It's kind of a hybrid between an M & D.

I always dig the m grind and the d wasn’t quite versatility enough for me in a tight lie. I have an l grind that works pretty good when it dries out but horrible in softer conditions. I like my wedges to match but ithe Cleveland 58 definitely worked. Thanks for reply. What to do.....

Looking to replace my sm7's with some fresh rtx4's. Currently I have 52F, 56F, and 60D in the sm7's. I love the 52 and 56F's so I think that translates to the mid grind for the rtx4's, but absolutely hate my 60D. It digs quite a bit and really sucks out of the sand, I think because of how it sits when i open the face. Should I go with a 60 mid grind if that's the case or is there a better option for me, I want something that sits nice and low under the ball when the face is open.

Thanks in advance!

Okay, RTX 4’s officially made the permanent bag. I am in love after 2 rounds of play. Now need to get the 50 degree.

Was at the local PGA Superstore yesterday and was checking these out. Pulled out a 60* X-low 3* bounce and it looked it great at address with a straightish bottom line. Pulled a few other models out then went back the 60 X-low again and thought woah wait a sec, that bottom edge is more rounded then I thought and appeared to have some onset. Checked the markings/specs again. Yep, 60 x-low. Thought this is weird. Noticed another of the same and held them side by side. This "other" one was the original I looked at. Completely different to each other. See pic below. Grooves are cut slightly different and rounder vs straighter bottom edge. It might be hard to see from this pic but it was very obvious when both were set on the ground.

Different lie angles I assume. One looks like a custom that snuck its way into a bulk order.

Thinking of reshafting my RTX4 56 and 60 to a Recoil 95 F3 and adding either a CBX2 or RTX4 52 degree. Then, the transition from my G700's with Recoil 65's will be better than going to S400 steel.

With the Modus 125 wedge shafts they are the best wedges I’ve ever played. Maybe not as long as my Stealth Glide 2.0’s but very solid feeling, soft, spin plenty and very accurate. I feel the sole is more versatile as well while just have to worry about bounce number and not a bunch of crazy grinds to choose from. Honestly for me the choice of grinds from Vokey was almost paralysis by analysis. Especially when condition I play in can be so inconsistent.

Still considering trying a 3 wedge setup with these as I've fallen in love with my u85 3 iron so I'm running Driver, 14* fw, 18* hyb, 20* Utility, 4-PW (745 and 945 sets). Thinking of jumping to 52 and 58 mid grind in either the black or raw. Anybody tried both? I don't like chrome wedges but don't have a preference between black and raw. The black look nice in these?

Anyways! I'm playing SM7 currently all with TI S400.

46 set wedge ---> 140 full 125 smooth 105 3/4 90 half

50 F 8 bounce bent to 51 ---> 120/125 full 115 smooth 90 3/4 75 half

54 S 10 bounce bent to 55 ---> 110 full 95 smooth 75 3/4 60 half

60 M 8 bounce ----> 95 full (never hit this shot unless forced) 75 smooth 50 half

I'm good at manipulating my distances. I do not like to hit full shots with my lob. I'm worried about giving up the easy 95 yard SW if I go to a 3 wedge set up but wondering if the 58 mid would be versatile enough to handle this shot. Not worried about the PW-GW gap more so if I can pull everything off with my 58. I do most of my chipping with 54. All bunker work with 58 unless it's silly long. I found that the D grind did NOT work out of bunkers for me when I had it and M was vastly better. Thoughts?

Now that I'm looking around at rtx4's. I can't say I'm surprised to see mixed reviews on the 3's

I game 3's now and like them but don't love them. I notice I've had more yardage inconsistencies on full shots, which was never a problem before.I'm starting to accept that v-sole might just not be as good in wedges as it is in irons. Guess that's why Cleveland went away from it in the 4's. NVM.Took me a while to realize this as I love my z945's that have v-sole..

EDIT: nvm, turns out they have V-soles too and I'm blind.

But that ridge on the back of the 4's.. woof.

I finally got a chance to hit more shots with my newly acquired RTX4 50*, early reviews are curious. Despite 2* stronger loft, the RTX4 seems to fly significantly shorter than the 52* Nike VR Forged it was destined to replace. The Nike was my 100yd club, despite the extra 2* loft, on full swings i was barely 90 yards. Every shot I hit with the 50* seemed to fly shorter than the 52*.

Small sample size, but gotta figure this out...

Fresh grooves = more spin = shorter distance? Get actual lofts checked. s400 may be too stiff for you (assuming that isn’t what you have in Nike).

what grinds are you using? I’m excited to test. My 52+58 mid in black will be here Tuesday. I’ve been wanting to go to 46-52-58 for a while so at the very least I’ll be able to see if it’s doable for me.

IDK, it was my understanding that on a clean lie, fresh vs worn grooves made little difference. Plus, on the Nikes I can still spin the snot out of the ball if needed. The Nikes and the RTX4 both have the same S400 shaft.

I am waiting for more data to make a decision about the RTX4, I am just glad it only cost me $5 of my own money for it!

Nice. My concern was what grind for the 58. I thought the 58 low might be a bit difficult to do everything with (90 and in) but I’m worried the 58 mid might be limited for going up high. From what I’ve seen it’s very doable and the trailing edge relief seems aggressive enough.

I love it. Can open it up a bit to expose some bounce if you’d like. Might be a technique thing but I open it a bit get the hands neutral to a bit behind and concentrate on hitting an inch or so behind it. Don’t have to worry about the leading edge digging and the trail relief keeps it from bouncing.

Played these during the summer, but took them out in favor of SM7s and more recently Glide stealths.

On a whim, I threw them back in the bag last week. Dear lord, why did I ever take these out. To me, they feel significantly better than the other sets, and provide all the spin and versatility you could want.

I was shocked at how soft these felt in comparison to my prior wedges. It’s just a superior product, IMO.

I have or have had the 46m, 50m, 52h, 56h, 60h, and 60L. Currently gaming 50m, 56h, and 60L. I love the Srixon z785 irons and assumed the mid bounce grind would be a perfect compliment. If I'm being honest, though, I find the high bounce grind perfect for full swings. I loved the low bounce 60* this summer, but am finding it a bit demanding in the dormant Bermuda. May be moving to the high bounce for a bit.

If you are replacing the M grind vokeys, I think the mid grind would be fine for full swings, but might suggest checking out the low bounce model if you are using it greenside. He low bounce has heel and toe relief that is similar to the M, but a hint less bounce. The mid grind really focuses more on leading edge relief. It all depends on what you want, though.

ZHTXQIC9SWPH.jpegFirst ever round with the 3 wedge setup in the bag. No ranges open so had to make it up as I went along. First thing I noticed was how quickly I chose my wedge. Sounds silly but certainly helpful. Hit some nice wedges on 1 and 2 for pars. Third hole I was in the rough on a long par 3 and chipped within a foot with the 52. Certainly LOVED the grind on the 52 I felt I could hit a lot of different shots with it both green side and from the fairway. Fourth hole is technically a drivable par 4 at 300 yards but it often plays into the wind and the green is elevated so you basically have to fly it on unless it’s burnt out mid summer. To avoid leaving awkward distances I usually hit driving iron. Left myself 80 yards in and hit a smooth 3/4 58. Went right over the hole and sucked back 10 feet for a kick in bird. Almost went in. Haven’t been getting badge like that from my gamers in a while.

shot +4 with 9 GIR. Got up and down for a couple of key birds on 2 par 5s and had a few great par saves. Overall I noticed lower initial launch, great feel, and ease of flighting. Only thing I didn’t love was the 58 out of the bunker. I usually use an M grind so I’m used to using low bounce but this was digging in quite a bit. I wish I could get a low bounce full grind like Lowry uses... need to experiment more but so far I haven’t missed my fourth wedge. These are great clubs.
