Modus 105 shafts on tour.

Nippon touts the Modus 105 as being popular on tour.....Does anyone know of any tour player who plays them?

I think most on the PGA tour are the 120x models, Casey. Bradley, and Stenson are using the 120.

One of the recent WITB someone was using the 105x. Either players or API. They’re pretty stable I could see a smooth swinger who likes a lighter shaft able to use them. Definitely something I’d look at as I got older, though I like the idea of steelfiber or recoil Protos.

One of their tour reps was on Russ Ryden's podcast the other day and he said the 105 won on both the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions on the same week a few weekends ago. Don't remember which players though. Sorry.

Some of these have been mentioned before but notables: Vijay Singh, Dylan Fritteli, Bill Haas (at least when they first came out). There are definitely 2-3 others I've seen on the WITB picture pages here recently but the names are escaping me. I haven't heard of anyone. Seems most opt for either the 120TX (126g) or the 130X. The 125 seems to be the lame duck of the line for some reason. It should be good considering it's basically an X100...I don't know, it's hard to predict the success of these things. I know a few tried the Super Peening Blue prototypes when they first came out which is essentially what morphed into the 125, but not for at least almost a decade have I really heard that name pop up anymore in the tech circles. My shop still carries them and we sell the odd set here and there but again at the weight, the X100/S400 still dominates.

Interesting about the lack of popularity of the 125, maybe players who like that weight/profile stick with the Dynamic Gold that has been around forever.

I have S300 in my irons but I just started playing again after about 10 years and feel that I need something stiffer. I got a demo club with a 125 X flex and absolutely love it. I've read it plays slightly softer than the X100. Now I'm curious if they 105 X flex I might like even more.... I will say I like a heavier swingweight and feel of the club so going lighter in the shaft may not be for me.
