Pigeon Creek in West Olive is open, as is Alpine Country Club in Grand Rapids...only causing just a little bit of controversy, given the "stay home, stay safe" order.

Got 18 in at devil's Ridge today. It was packed! Shot a nice little 74 and wiped everything down with clorox wipes lol.

I personally feel if they mandate walking and no pins then we would be fine.

My pushcart arrives from Amazon later today. I'm planning on walking as many holes at metamora after work tmrw as possible provided they are still open.

It sounds like other states that still allow golf have flipped the cups upside down so your ball just bounces off. I like that idea, but I haven't seen any local courses doing it yet.

I've heard of that and sticking a pool noodle in the cup around the flag so your ball only drops a little bit below the surface. The flagstick and the plastic cup liner inside the hole seem like they'd be one of the worst areas for possible contamination with everyone sticking their hands in there, so if you're playing where they haven't done anything with the holes, I'd use hand sanitizer each time you get your ball out of the hole.

I talked to a buddy who was there and he said the cops came and wouldn't allow people to tee off.

Using pool noodle here, works great. Local rule in our games, if ball touches the noodle and bounces out, ball considered holed out. No rakes in bunkers, no pins on practice greens, everybody in individual carts or walking, online check in only, pro shop closed, 1 entry, 1 exit to restroom, bet money is Clorex or Lysol wiped, we just sits in our carts after with individual coolers, 1 case in the entire county. Based on current events, we might need to resurrect the ATMG meet up this summer.

I got an email from our board of directors that said we will be able to play with no carts and no services. There will also be no flags, but cups will be cut right in the middle of the green. It will be nice just to get outside and hit some shots.

I took my son to OU yesterday and walked the course while doing some ball hunting. I did see a few guys playing some holes with 2-3 clubs in hand.

The other thing I noticed was a good amount of maintenance workers on the course. I'm not sure if that will change today or if they have some special permission as part of the college campus.

I have permission from Perry, the head pro to be out there walking (not playing) and it's nice to take advantage of such a beautiful property. I might head out there again today after work with a cigar.

I am going to give it a run, until someone tells me other wise the club at least seems cool with it as long we stay 6 ft apart.

My home course came out yesterday and said that they are closed to the public. There was a note that members could play if they wanted but couldn't use the clubs golf carts. If a member has there own personal cart, they can play with said cart but to try and heed the social distancing directives. We have a cart barn for members who don't live on the course to be able to store their carts, so the club won't have any employees around, if you own a cart, you have a key to the cart barn.

Our club closed the course to everyone - even walkers. Not happy!!!

So far we’ve been told walking or taking our own cart is ok. We had 16 guys out yesterday because most other places are strictly enforcing. The course has been absolutely packed the last week.

if your a member at local course/club you may have exclusive rights to use the course on a walking basis even though the golf business is shut down..

I figure something has to break, Americans just can't be caged in all the time, even if there is a risk, which I don't think golf would provide that much of a risk to people's health in fact the opposite. I think I like what the President says, Americans were made to work and be active, not locked up in fear. Good common sense, as well, on the golf course would not pose much of a threat to anybody.

Upside down cups or plastic spacers; one per cart or walking only; online payment...done. let's play some golf and keep our sanity!

Golf is probably fine if you take precautions like what 1PT mentions, but trying to go back to normal before we get things under control regarding protective gear for healthcare workers and ventilators to treat the people who have the really bad pneumonia will be an absolute disaster. Look at what is happening in the hospitals in the Detroit area right now, when we've taken steps to slow the spread and think about what will happen if people are out spreading the virus everywhere. A whole bunch of people will die, including people who have other problems and injuries. This sucks, but it's necessary, and being patient while they try to get this thing under control now will get us out of it sooner than if we try to open everything up too soon.
