The DG S400 isn't listed as one of the shaft option, so you may need to inquire.

I ordered Eye2 58 with PX LZ and GP TV cord with extra wrap without an upcharge.

Had it custom spec'd at 1 deg flat (red) and D5 swingweight to offset the reduced head weight design.

It looks like they use CTP insert to adjust the weighting.

Thanks, I suspect it's not an option or has an upcharge. I did email Ping 3 days ago but have not heard back which is quite unusual for them as they generally respond pretty quickly. I was fit into DG120 TI S400 iron shafts and would like to stick with those in my 50 & 54 if possible since I use them for full swings a lot. My glide 2.0 60es I currently have the Ping AWT 2.0 wedge shaft and it's fine for what I use that club for.

I have these in 50 and 56 SS and think they are great. Funny thing is that since I got them new, first couple of times hitting them at the range I could really see my strike pattern for full shots by the marks left on the face and it is a lot larger than I thought. I used to be a firm believer that it didn't really matter what wedge you play because the forgiveness comes from the loft, but now that I see myself hitting it all over the face, I am glad to at least have the perception of some extra built-in forgiveness with the cavity. Feel is crisp and light. Not a heavy thuddy hit. They are light in stock setup which is actually fine with me because I can swing these a bit easier. Heavier wedges I sometimes think the weight is going to do the work for me and then decell and stick it in the ground. I may prefer the heft and feel of the AWT wedge shaft that came in the Glide Stealths as stock but not enough to reshaft.

"What’s the best grind for firm bunkers, but also bounce that provides some forgiveness along with versatility when opening the face? I’m thinking either ss or eye2 grind...."

I had the same question when I went from the fluffy bunkers on home course in the NE to less than fluffy bunkers on my Florida course. I just couldn't get out of them with my higher bounce wedges. My instructor advised me that "low" sand required less bounce and the reverse for "high" (deeper) sand. I went with a TS grind on my 58* wedge and it works great.

Correct Ping doesn’t offer DG TI S400 as an option. I inquired as well (it took them about 7 days to call me back) and confirmed.

Due to their construction they are probably the most forgiving "wedge" with the possible exception of the CBX 2.0. I can't tell you about the differences between Glides and the G-series wedges as I never hit them, but other people have sworn by them. I think in those types of lofts for less than full shots, you shouldn't see a huge difference.

Anybody ever order a custom lie from Ping? The stock wedge is a black dot. I play orange in my i200 irons. I have three black dot Glide 2.0 wedges, and I find that they tend to go left. I've been looking at the 3.0's for some time, hoping that the price would eek down, but so far no go.. If I'm going to pay retail price for them, I may as well get them custom built. Thoughts?

I’ve got a 50* GW and want a set of wedges.

I noticed a lot of 56*/60* sets on eBay whereas something like 54*/58* or 54*/58* seems harder to find. Any reason for that? Are more people going with 56*/60*? Or is it just what’s on eBay right?

I always thought 54/58 was gaining in popularity because of stronger lofts. Alot of newer sets seem to have a set GW at 49/50. Anyway, I've got a new 52 degree Glide 3.0 that just came in the mail today. Play a 56/60 Hi Toe, and a 46* Srixon 785 PW. Hoping that fits the gaps well. Thinking a 52 Glide might produce a little higher ball speeds and act like a 50 degree blade wedge on a full swing, Need to hit decent number on 3/4 and 1/2 swing as well, because I am not in love with the Hi Toes on full swings. I am a bit worried about the weight, as I went with the stock shaft so that I could get it in hand right away. We'll see how it goes. Might be reshafting soon or breaking out some lead tape.

I play the 54* & 60* Eye 2’s and have a 50* GW. Prior to these Glide 3.0’s I had the 2.0 Stealths in 54*SS and 58*ES. I realized the lob wedge was more specialty use, so I chose the 60* in the 3.0.

I prefer the 54* for most shots 100 yards and in. While I tend to control spin or check up the 54* pretty well, the 60* is called on for short sided pitches, 60-80 yard shots especially front pins and most sand shots. The Eye2 60* is the most consistent and easiest lob wedge I’ve ever hit.

I may change out the 54* Eye2 for an SS grind, but I am very confident this 60* Eye2 stays in the bag for a long time. I’ve enjoyed other 58 and 60 degree wedges, but only a Wishon 58* Micro Tour (no longer available) remains in a back up bag. For me, this 60* Eye2 is legit and stays in the bag. It doesn’t require a lot of manipulation opening the face, etc. to hit the desired shot. FWIW, they are both shafted with the Z-115 PING shaft made by Nippon. I was not sure how it would work, based on all the comments I had read about it being light, but I’m a fan. Swing weight and length were almost dead on listed spec. YMMV.

Yeah after one range session and a chipping session with my glide 52, it's way too light. Wouldn;t have ordered the stock shaft under normal circumstances. Wondering if a Modus 120x shaft will solve the issue, or if I need lead tape as well. Maybe should have gone RTX.

If you look closely at Pings specs, you'll see they're referring to "effective bounce." The actual bounce angle is not what they're measuring, but instead they're attempting to incorporate the width of the sole into the effective bounce number. The Eye2 Grind has some trailing edge relief that narrows the part of the sole that will impact turf/sand, giving it less effective bounce.

So I read this WRX article on effective bounce. So if I understand correctly, if have a shallow angle of attack, I would want an SS grind on 54* or 56* right? And should an Eye2 be fine in a 60*? What is “effective bounce” anyway?

Played a round in the rain yesterday and realized how important preserving spin in wet conditions is going to be if I plan to play competitive rounds of golf. Can anyone in this thread comment on Ping's Glide Forged wedges vs the Glide 3.0 in terms of performance in wet conditions? I prefer the more traditional shape of the glide forged but all of the Youtube reviews and tests (such as the one done here by TXG:

) only show the Glide 3.0.

Do the Glide Forged match the performance of the 3.0 in this category? Are there any other distinct advantages of the 3.0 vs the forged than anyone who has played both have experienced?
