Tested my new Edel wedges...

... and I immediately came home to order Vokey Tour Chrome SM8 52.08F, 56.14F, and 60.10S.

I was really hoping to like the Edel wedges, but they were by far the most inconsistent feeling and performing wedges I have ever hit. The good ones feel as nice as anything I have used, but the slight mishits were unplayable. Has anyone else experienced similar results with Edel?

I have edel putter and love it. My buddy has wedges and putter and loves his wedges.

Yes, I have a putter and their forged variable length cavity backs and I absolutely love both. I have tried 3 of their wedges in different grinds and I hate them, just never could get consistent distance and they always went right no matter how upright I had them. I had them make me a 52* gap wedge in the forged cavity back and it is great. So strange that I love all the other stuff so much and can’t get along with the wedges.

I was thinking about getting a 51 and 56 made in the driver or digger grind. But I think I should maybe find a used one first before going for new wedges.

Really wanted to like their wedges but can't get along with them. Very inconsistent for me as well and wedges/ball striking is my strong suit. YMMV

Interesting, I love their grind options and just had 4 in my cart and then decided to come here for a look. Guess I’m not ordering them. First, they are $180 for a cast wedge. Second, I don’t like the sound of these reviews.

A golfing partner had Ping irons with a 45* PW, and Edels in 50-55-60. Sorry, but I can't remember the sole grinds.

It was a slow day on the course, so he let me hit test shots into some of the greens with the Edels. I was impressed by how smooth and effortless the swings felt - I got mainly 2-inch long scalp divots. It was a soft green day, so I can't say for sure how spin I was getting.My advice if you go Edel: get the full, outdoor fitting for the wedges. A teaching pro who fits Edels cautioned that the indoor fittings don't tell you as much.

I’ve had two sets of Edel Wedges and I’ve never had any issues. First set went 50 55 60 degrees but my most recent set from last year I now use 50 54 58. In My opinion they are good wedges and one needs to do test to confirm what works.

Love my set and never had any issues with them. Depending on the grinds/bounce, it can take a bit to get used to, more so it you are going into the higher bounce wedges. No complaints from me and still use mine with different iron sets as I got 50/54/58.

Funny...

...hated my vokeys, lasted a month. Got the edels, not sure I'll ever use another wedge. I have three and use the 46 as my PW.

I do have buddies who've had issues with them, they don't do as good with the bounce profile.

For Edel wedges, you need to see one of their fitters and do an outdoor fitting. Completely night and day compared to an indoor wedge fitting I had at Club Champion. Not sure I will ever switch wedges, until it’s time for my next set of Edels.

I have the 50/54/60 in the Driver bounce. Didn't think I would like them as much as a I did. Started with just the 54 (used) as a trial (former Edel putter guy) and added the additional two last summer. Was really looking to leverage higher bounce in the short game and these worked perfectly. I also swapped out the shafts to match my irons (Steelfiber i80s) and added swing weight to bring them all up to D6.

Really couldn't be happier with them. I think the variety of chipping I get from these is the single most important factor...I take little to no divot anywhere and use the bounce as much as possible. Had Hogan TK15s and Vega's prior and never thought I would want to play a cast wedge, but here I am

On my 2nd set, most versatile wedges around the greens imo! I do switch to my md4s when playing a couple really soft courses around my area, I do find the edels are better in firm to hard conditions!
