According to the Nippon rep , whichever you play in the 105 iron shaft , that’s the flex that would suit you. I agree with this after playing it. It’s not boardy in the TX but a tight stay with you feel. No experience with the stiff but you can always tip these If needed. You can’t make the x softer in a 2i , but you can slightly alter the stiffness in the S flex if need be.

I love the shaft and if they were to release iron shafts with the same specs , I’d be all over it.

I searched a long time for the profile of this shaft, spent a lot more on that group retail and tour only 95-105g x-tx shafts and this one ticks all the of the boxes for me. I highly recommend it.

I'm not sure why all the anti-left comments. I didn't find it anti-left at all. With that being said, I didn't find it anti-right either. This shaft was my favourite, and best surprise of 2019.

In your experience , would you say that the midsection is firmer/tighter than most “hybrid” shafts you’ve tried? I’ve got a rather quick transition and don’t like waiting at the top trying to hit a stinger 2i and this shaft makes me forget about that move. It’s nearly point and shoot for me.

Definitely tighter/more stable then any other tour/proto/retail hybrid shaft I've hit. The only thing that would come close is when I tipped an OG Brunswick .350 X flex Rifle 3" and shimmed it in a hybrid.

Without question, it feels like nothing else I've ever gamed. Really wanting to try the FW version in my 3 wood.

the GOST in X or TX I’d think would be “enough”

I’ve played a lot of X flex shafts of varying weights including steel in the 3-4 hybrid slot over the years and the GOST X is as stable as anything I can remember if not more so.

Worth trying a hybrid vs a 2i? Are you asking should you try the shaft in both options? If so , that’s totally up to you and which one fits your game better. I highly recommend the shaft for a hybrid and or a driving iron.

I have played Modus 120S hard stepped in my irons in the past and might go back there soon. Would the Tour S be the flex to try in this shaft for my hybrid?

Keep in mind the 105 profile will feel a little firmer under your hands and slightly tighter throughout the length of shaft than the 120’s. If you like the 105 profile , and want to try the GOST, I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be able to use the Tour S.

Have you ever swung the 105s steel iron shaft? According to the Nippon dealer , the Tour S would be the equivalent stiffness to the 105s. I find this very accurate from my experience with the slightly stiffer flex that I use in my driving iron.

What would a soft stepped X be then? Just the regular X in the GHOST? I play Modus 125 X soft stepped 1X

When I was considering the GOST, I sent 30 minutes on the phone going over my current hybrid’s LM data (TM M4 19° hybrid with Mitsubishi OTh 90 Stiff) with the Nippon rep at their HQ in Carlsbad. Long story short, I was told the standard GOST Stiff would be most comparable flex to the Modus 105 Stiff I play in my irons. I was told the GOST Stiff will be firmer flexing shaft vs the Modus 105 Stiff however the additional stiffness is offset to a small degree by the heavier head weight of a hybrid. I was promised the GOST will be a smooth feeling shaft with exceptional performance. I was ready to jump on the GOST train however their GOST stock was delayed coming over from Japan so I went with the MMT 90 Stiff.

PXG just did a video testing hybrids and swapping out shafts. One of the shafts tested was the GOST shaft.

Do you have any feedback on this yet?? I bought a 790 UDI with Tensei Pro Orange from a club builder on eBay. He was selling one with the GOST also and recommended I go with the PO in the UDI if I primarily wanted it as a tee option

I likely bought from the same guy - I saw that one for sale as well. I'm loving mine so far. I've found in the past that I'm more consistent with steel in a driving iron. Things can get erratic when I've used graphite, but steel will admittedly sacrifice some distance and launch. For those reasons I thought GOST would really suit me. Like others have said, the GOST is kind of the best of both worlds. A bit lighter weight than steel (I have the ~110g TX), but very stable. It pretty much feels like a perfect middle ground between graphite and steel in my opinion. I've felt really good with it off the tee and have hit some good shots off the fairway as well. Hope this helps.

yes thank, good info!! Im sure the seller was Ted Hanson..... I know what you mean with the graphite in the iron. I hit some long bombs with mine but also have a tendency to miss wild left. I had a Srixon U85 with a Project X 6.5 in it for some of last year. It was pretty accurate but overall launched too high for my liking. I think that was more of the U85 design tho.
