Question about the SW effect when removing cobra connect grips??

I have a few questions about how removing the Cobra connect grips from a set of Cobra forged CB/MB irons and how it will affect swing weight. If there is another post about this, please point me in the right direction, I have searched but I can't find one. 

I am about to order a set of Cobra forged CB/MB irons, but I do not want the Cobra connect grips, I want to standard tour velvets instead. I will also be getting heavier shafts than the stock option (tour X-stiff 130g vs. the $-taper 120g), and I know that will change the swing weight also.

How will removing the Cobra connect grip affect swing weight and overall length? I know that the cobra site says the connect grips add about .25"Should I get the shafts .25" longer to make up for the loss of the .25" on the connect grips?According to the cobra page, the 4-9 play at D2 and the pitching wedge plays D3 with the Cobra connect grip installed. I don't really want the SW to change from that. Has anybody had any experience in the effects of removing Cobra connect grips?

You already are making a custom order. Order them the specific length and SW's you want and without the Connect grips. They do all that for you.

Don't say std length or 1/4" over. Tell them the exact length you want (i.e. 38.25" - 5 iron).

Had a 6-iron with a cobra connect Wrap with D5 SW-total weight of grip and sensor was 57 grams.

I replace it with a normal grip weighting 56 grams and the swing weight dropped to D2....so 3 SW drop.

...and 3/8” difference in club length.

FYI, I removed the sensor from the grip end first with a thin Flathead screwdriver (pretty easily) and then blew the grip off, so the connect grip and sensor can be re-used.

When you took your grip at step-up, how did you treat the extension of the grip that held the arccos sensor?

If you took your grip the way that's intended - the same way (same place on the grip) as if the sensor wasn't there e.g. used the dashed lines and not the very end of the grip cap as a reference point - then there is nothing to worry about. Using a regular grip will not change the effective swing weight or effective playing length and no adjustment will likely be needed.

When measuring the swing weight with the connect grip on, the club should be re-positioned on the swing weight scale to exclude that extra extension on the grip. Otherwise it will give a false reading about 1.5 sw pts heavier than the club really plays. Better yet, the SW should be measured and adjusted before the grip is even installed.

Well, grip weight may change a bit depending on which connect grip you've been using and which normal grip you choose to replace it. But the swing weight scale is the wrong tool to use to figure out what adjustments might be needed. You'll have to do that by feel on the range.
