What happened to Natalie Gulbis?

What happened to Natalie Gulbis? I totally forgot about her till her face popped up in some clickbait ad. I looked at her stats.......last time she made a cut, Obama was still President.

She’s had a lot of issues with her back. A couple of years ago she was seriously talking about retirement to have a family. Then she had a procedure that apparently worked and talked about how she was going to do mini-seasons of 8 or so events. I was expecting to see her at the last 2 domestic stops but to no avail. She was really good at one point, had about 25 top 10s from 2005-2007 including about 5, top 5 finishes at majors. Her decline seemed to start in 2008 albeit a slow one. I can see why people thought she was going to be the next big thing.

* Health (back) issues were a big problem. I think that crazy dip/head movement in her swing probably contributed. I believe she has had multiple back surgeries, not sure if she's gone the route of fusion yet.

* I think she's done and enjoyed some side gigs like modeling, commentary, etc that she seems to enjoy

* I believe somewhere after problems started in 2008 she got married, perhaps family life became a little more of a priority too

Last time I saw her she was in a video hitting her manager with a golf shot while he was sleeping in the bleachers.

she was supposedly extremely flexible. I am sure she thought no way she gets back issues swinging like that. Tiger was also extremely flexible, could bend sideways to touch the ground...

That would fall under the "personal issues" heading, which should never be confused with "general health concerns" as mentioned by another forum friend earlier in the thread.

That was her father I believe.

What was left of her playing career died in late 2013 when she co-led the season ending CME Titleholders event after 3 rounds then shot 82 in the final round. Her health issues in early 2013 didn't help her cause either. Her results after her 2007 season were never good. 2013 was the end.

Natalie contracted malaria on the Asian swing in 2013. I recall reading she also suffered a miscarriage after her marriage.

This thread is so sad and depressing ...I certainly hope she can have a good life after golf?

She’s gorgeous and smart, could probably do many other things.
