Will players change the way they treat the schedule?

In light of recent events - probably the longest streak of cancellations in PGA tour history - will players change the way they treat the schedule?

For a LONG time the top players on the PGA tour have had the luxury of high-dollar purses and stacked years of events where they can pick and choose which event to play at their leisure - not for any concrete reason like physical health or etc - but because 'they dont like the course' or etc.

Compared to previous generations of tour players who fought it out constantly for much smaller purses and much fewer events.

The API @ Bay Hill was the last event of 2020 so far. And many players chose to forego this event even after getting an invite for whatever reason (Justin Thomas, etc - even though many who normally skip it committed late for a few odd reasons such as Brooks searching for his game after the Honda).

Do you think any players will begin to play more events?

You'll see a lot of big names in the events that end this year if we get back to work.

Once things get back to normal you'll continue to see the same trends with big names skipping events

Or, you might see the big names play less. A lot of people say golf is the easiest one to come back because it can be played outside with no fans, but no one mentions the travel, hotel stays, and all of the other logistics involved for the individual players. Many are already multi-millionaires who probably aren't feeling too stressed "social distancing" so they may feel there's no need to take a risk until there's a vaccine. I would imagine the tournament locations would also play a large factor in whether or not to play.

Yup. Field for rest of 2020 events (whatever amount the tour can save) will be jam packed.

I also agree big time players will continue to pick and choose the events of their likings after things get back to normal. There are too much money in the tournaments that top tier players do not need to play that many events.

Adding to what I posted, I'll also say that the only big name players who ill show up at events they don't normally play are the ones who need FedEx cup points
