2020 XXIO Black Forged Irons

Has anyone hit these irons yet? I'm a slow swing speed player with a moderate to aggressive transition. I like the look of these as they look forgiving and have a lot of technology but don't look huge. The steel shaft is a made for XXIO Nippon 920gh that is counter-balanced with a 13g weight in the butt end. I'm looking at a set on EBAY from a golf shop at a huge discount. Thanks.

They look like high handicapper iron but play like low handicap irons

what do you mean? Is that in terms of low forgiveness?

Medium forgiveness but you get really good distance

Awesome. That's what I wanted to hear. Did you hit them with the Nippon steel shaft?

I have not hit them but my friend has and he said they were the best irons we’ve ever used

Just got my XXIO X Black Forged irons and XXIO Eleven woods this week.

Those are awesome looking clubs. I am changing irons this year and will put them on the list to try. Now just need the golf stores to open.

Thanks. I'm waiting for the courses to open up in San Diego. I'll update this thread once I hit them. Compared to my PXG 0311 XP irons, the XXIO forged are standard 38 inch 5 iron which is 3/4 of an inch shorter than the PXG. PXG is 1 degree stronger loft. The sole width of the XXIO looks slimmer but I think its due to the V-sole.

Played for the first time today with the 2020 XXIO forged black irons and XXIO Eleven Driver and woods. The irons felt really good nice weight on the shafts and great forged feel on the face. I haven't played in 8 weeks so taking that into account my distance was a little short today. I found that I was hitting point and shoot straight iron shots with the XXIO forged. I played one more club on most of the shots and they found myself hitting a lot of greens. The irons were very forgiving as I hit several shots off the toe and shots either hit the green or were just a little short. The driver was very well balanced and felt smooth. Although the shafts in this driver are light, it didn't feel whippy at all. My misses tended to be to the left as the driver is draw biased and high torque. I started to make adjustments on the back 9 and aimed towards the right side of the fairway and started hitting some nice long draw shots. I struggled with the XXIO fairway woods today and I will chalk it up to rustiness. Jury still out on the fairway woods.
