What's you guys opinion on the new "Classifieds Spotlight" (new to me, anyways, I hadn't noticed it before) feature on the front page?

Is it bad form to point out on a BST listing that they are selling a product for more than you can buy it for from a retailer? It isn’t a desirable club or something tour issue. Just a discontinued item that was exclusive to a big box retailer.

Bad is subjective, but it's against the rules. So don't.

Ha. This is a quick path to a warning, prison bars (still don't know what those mean), and/or a suspension. But yeah, I frequently see people offering used clubs for a little above or below the going retail rate. A good example is Cobra F9 drivers, which lost all resale value when Cobra suddenly dropped the retail price to $250 right when a ton of retailers offered 15% or more off. People were still listing them like they retailed for $300+ and I often wanted to PM the seller to at least let them know that he was unlikely to get any action at that price. This also is a result of the whole "I just want to get back what I paid for it" idea that makes so little sense.

Got it. I noticed a listing for sale that isn’t a club or components that can be had for $40 less from a site that is owned by America’s Largest Golf Retailer.

I wouldn’t sweat. There was a guy that bought a Studio Select CT on a whim and changed his mind for a $700 mark up.

I always found this statement funny. Take BST away and I probably wouldn't have ever become a member or probably wouldn't be now.

now with that said the bst is damn near impossible to sell anything anymore but still one of the main reasons I come to the site.

It's an embarrassing claim. It's like craigslist claiming their BST generates no income for their site. Technically they'd be right...but the 600+ million dollars in revenue each year says otherwise. I'm sure the BST is the money maker here too.

We have admitted to how we messed up feedback and unfortunately it is no closer. We thought we had a solution multiple times but none panned out. We have another solution but it’s months away.

The 30 day relist rule has always been around and if an item falls through, it is standard policy to contact a mod and ask it to be reopened and placed back in the BST.

Yes you have to pay to pin it but, one has the choice to wait 30 days or pay to pin it.

As to the thread staying open, it is to the credit to the moderators and shows how hard it is to be banned.

We are aware of the moderation software shortfalls and looking to fix them.

As for BST activity, we are putting resources into highlighting it as it is a popular draw. We will be doing what we can to highlight items. As for feedback, PayPal protection and commenting in profile for feedback can be done now.

We will be announcing something very soon BST centric with a new partner. We know feedback is a concern and there is a larger plan in place for that.

COVID has effected everyone personally in one way or another. We ask everyone to stay safe and positive in these trying times.

Please do not do anything to increase traffic to the BST until feedback is fixed. Time and energy is better spent doing that rather than trying to make it a “popular draw.”

To me, saying you want to make it a “popular draw” before the feedback is fixed is like saying, “Let’s break things even more.”

when the concord 11 golf shoes came out, I listed my brand new pair because they were 1/2 size small. Went to StockX, GOAT, and all other sneaker resell sites and got a price. Listed it on the BST for $30 lower than “market value”. Had a member PM saying that he would offer me “what I paid for them, and not a penny more” because my asking price was not was the retail price of the shoe. He also said i would regret not selling to him and i would NEVER get what i was asking. I “Politely” told him you can’t buy these at retail, that’s not the value of the shoe, and that he can eff off.

 

listed the shoes on StockX and sold them for $75 more than what I had them listed on the BST

It's not just you. I had a guy looking for Recoil 110 shafts on the WTB forum.

I sent him pics good pic and after 4 days he messages " let me see if I can source some heads and I'll get back to you.

Waste of my time.

I no longer respond to members whose sole purpose on this site is to buy or flip equipment.

Lots of "member since 2010, number of posts 35" type hanging on here.

When I see a complaint thread like one recent one 5 pages long, it's usually started by one of these types.

And they are not even trying to be nice. It's like "this is what i can offer best" and it's like 35% off my price which is almost lowest on ebay/here.

The same goes for sellers wasting peoples time. If you want to sell something, have a price in mind. Dont message me saying "i dont know, I havent really looked." And in turn, delete the convo upset because you didnt like my offer. Its annoying for sure.
