INTRODUCING TIGER TUESDAYS / What are the best Tiger Woods shoes of all time?

GolfWRXers, we’re proud to introduce something we think is, frankly (no headcover-related pun intended), long overdue: Tiger Tuesdays.

The 15-time major champion and his equipment have been uniquely interesting to GolfWRX members since our early, forum-only, days. Now, we don’t delude ourselves into thinking the percentage of hardcore TW fans is higher than elsewhere in the golf mediasphere. However, we do believe, with regard to Tiger Woods, the milestones and miscellany of his career—and certainly, his equipment—our serious Woodsian scholars are the best informed in the business.

It’s with this in mind we’re adding Tiger Tuesdays to our weekly content mix. And while the specific pieces you’ll see on the front page will have a multiplicity of forms greater than a tiger’s stripes, and important element will always be GolfWRXer input.

To that end, we’ll be running plenty of polls and surveys in the forums, of which this is one (obviously). So, GolfWRXers, what are the best Tiger Woods shoes of all time?

The TW ‘13’s were probably the first tiger shoes I truly “liked” from a design aesthetic standpoint and they were comfy as hell to boot. They get my vote.

Tw 13 and 14 hands down. Then the tw shoe that never was the tour premiere.

I still wear both the 13’s and 14’s as my main golf shoes. I think I have 9 total pairs. The 13’s are the most comfortable, but the 14’s win all the other major categories. They look better, are more waterproof and yet more breathable somehow, and they are more stable. I give the nod to the 14’s but I’m happy in either shoe.

i think it's pretty clear that the TW13 is the consensus favorite, but the SP8 TW Tour ranks right up there for me.

my second favorite has to be the extremely underrated TW2009.

A lot of talk about the 13's and 14's, which are nice, but my favorite pair are the grey TW15's. I'm still rocking them, and they are very comfortable, a must since I, mostly, walk.

Clearly I’m in the minority here, and I’ll preface this by saying I’ve never owned a pair of TW shoes (I’m an ECCO guy). When I first saw TW wearing the ‘13 model, I said to myself (and maybe out loud) those are the ugliest golf shoes I’ve ever seen him wear.

They must be comfy, cause I still think they are hideous. But he paved the way for Nike to make more running shoe like golf shoes, I’ll give him that.

My favourite looking TW shoes are the SP-8’s, all white, with the “ghost swoosh”. Pure class.

I'm jealous. Seems like they've inflated incredibly over the last few years. Steals are rare.

The toe cap had yellowed a little bit, that's why I got them for a good deal....but I googled how to clean it and they came out looking pretty darn good! I took a risk that I couldn't clean them up but thankfully it worked out.

The TW13's are quite the best looking and most durable shoe of all time. By far my favorite. Retro them!

The TW 14 are the 2nd best for similar reasons.

The Tw15's were good as well, although after one season the greys were completely thrashed. The mesh didnt survive the all the green shit they spray on the Bethpage Black course.

 

If you follow them theres a small cult following on these shoes, pairs listed on ebay for crazy prices with the obnoxious prices for the 13 Masters releases being the highest.

I liked the 13’s and the 15’s, with the 14’s getting honorable mention. They really stepped up the shoes with these iterations

My rep gave me a pair of the TW13s. They’ve gotten some decent use over the years and STILL look new.

SP8! Classic looking shoe and very comfortable.

They always did a good job of jacking up the sizing ratio of the swoosh. It was ALWAYS too big or too small for where it was located. It always looked like what a 5th grader would draw if asked to draw a Nike golf spike.

They didn't get it right until the Victorys, but the fit on those was trash. They have nailed it with the Infinity Tours.

I purchased these shoes through the Golfsmith clearance website for $70 and I recall it being over 50% off the original price. These things were my babies for years. Hands down, my favorite pair of athletic shoes I have ever worn; any sport. Cedar shoe trees from Day 1 and a shoe cobbler failed twice to get the sole reattached to the upper. He simply had no glue that would hold, so I used JBWeld. I still wear when I use a cart, but I can't wear to them to walk as the inside heel material has worn away just enough to cause blisters. They still look spectacular.

Does anyone know what model/year these are? I think I got them in 2007 but I can't recall.

those actually aren't Tiger's shoes. if i remember correctly they are the Air Zoom Elite (or something like that) from 2008.

still remember my local golf course having brand new pairs of masters TW 13 shoes sitting in the shop all season without people buying them. I wanted the regular color ones to match outfits better but should of grabbed these
