Epon AF 302 - Anyone Still Playing Them?

Thanks. Your Newport 2 looks impressive, pictures don't do it justice. I really like the finish Epon has put on the 302's, the copper look is my favourite. The colour like u said changes shades depending on the lighting upon them. Would love to get a few other sets of irons I have in a similar finish.

I’ve had a set of each finish. Love the feel and timeless looks but just can’t ever get over the way the club sits in the short irons. As someone who misses left, something about the offset and heel/hosel transition just doesn’t suit my eye.

One thing that never occurred to me back then was bending them a couple degrees weak to get rid of some of the offset. I think with the right shaft I could get away with bending them weak and still finding the right ball flight window.

I definitely regret selling the coppers. That sets been around the world, probably several times.

took out my set of af301 today; recently had them reshafted with accra i95 ICWT and wanted to give them a whirl.

i think they are a half club longer than my 718AP2. draw bias. Pure as ever.

I still have my AF-301’s, and do put them into play every now and again.  Still a very solid, soft, playable set of irons.  Had the AF-Tour for a while, only every got to see the AF-302s in passing.

I decided to keep my satin 302s. After over 600 rounds, they show little wear. Granted, I use Epon neoprene head covers and get a few snickers, but there's no chatter marks and I always clean my grooves. I've been back in the gym, and regained some strength I lost during the lockdown and am OK for now with the TT XP 95 shafts that Joe Kwok fitted and built the clubs for me with them in. I'm a woman in my 50s and can live with hitting my 7 iron 145 yards. They feel so good and I don't want to mess with them, plus the Kwok build is expensive. I get guys checking out my clubs fairly often and most have no idea what Epons are. They probably think they're some eBay cheapos.

I hit a Mizuno MP-20 MMC and didn't feel I was gaining anything and still prefer the soft buttery feeling of the 302s. It seems like the new tech makes the most difference in driver and woods, so I'm going to do a fitting at Club Champion later this month and focus on that part of my bag, as well as find a better shaft for my K Grind 64º as I'm souring on the DG Spinner I've had in it for several years.

I'm debating between these and the 1008s currently.  Just bought some MMT 125TX and considering rebuilding a set.  Also considering having BOS golf refinish them in copper...

Not copper but have a set of satin 301 that could use a new home

Imo the 301s look even better than the 302s

I had a set of copper 302s 3-pw and traded it for a flat stick. Told the guy that once he is ready to let the heads go to sell it back to me and I’d be happy to buy it back no question asked. Turd decided to not only sell it within 2 weeks but somehow split the set and sold 5-pw and not sure where the 3/4 went. I was livid but it is what it is.

I have a set of chrome 302s that I keep around to and still play it from time to time. Great irons.

Here is a pic of my 302.

Gorgeous! That's terrible he split the set up. My set only went to a 4 iron.

When I built my 302's they were still offering copper. I went with satin, which was a great choice. They have held up much better compared to the stock chrome.

I've just always semi regretted not getting the copper.

But at this point maybe a set of satin 302's would do the trick.
