I walk and only play nine holes at a time but seem to piss off players in carts when i tee off from the 10th hole. Am i doing something wrong?

You mean you starting your round of 9 holes on the 10th tee instead of the 1st tee? If so Why? Do you have permission from the club house or were you told by them to start on the 10th instead of the 1st hole? If not, then yes you are doing something wrong.

If they told you that you could tee off on 10 but had to wait for an opening, then you also may be doing something wrong. In general, if there is any group coming from the 9th hole to the 10th tee and if they have to wait to tee off because of you being in the way while you are playing the 10th hole, then you shouldn't have teed off on the 10th tee. If there is enough of a gap that you can tee off and get out of the way before the next group from 9 tees off on 10, then it's usually not a problem as long as it's not against the club policy.

There could be other reasons as well, not really enough details. If you really are pissing some people off, they are the people you should be asking. They may or may not be justified but it's the quickest way to find out what the actual (or perceived) problem really is. None of us were there so the best we can do is just guess.

Our county courses started letting people play 9 holes for the first hour and a half in the morning. You should look into that.

 

But if it's just people in carts behind you waiting bc you're walking, you're not doing anything wrong.

Stuart G is correct. Slow play and poor etiquette is ruining the game. I think COVID has brought many new people to the game which is great but I think courses need to have more rangers on the course to keep things moving and to help take care of courses. Especially considering the green fees we’re paying nowadays.
