I will absolutely buy one, if for no other reason than to tick off the "purists" and Never Costco-ers on these boards.

 

First green..... take a sip of my Kirkland water (8 cents), peel off my Kirkland glove ($5), set my Kirkland poker chip (free with gloves) down behind my Kirkland ball ($1), use top of the sleeve of my Kirkland polo ($14) to wipe the sweat from my right eye (after removing my Kirkland eyeglasses ($69), take Kirkland headcover ($priceless) off of my Kirkland putter$139).....

 

By the way, with my Costco Visa I get 4% rebated on top of all that.

The hysteria over this thing is baffling. Totally baffling. There are plenty of really decent putters in the $100-150 range made by actual golf companies that come in a full range of specs (lengths, head weights, grip options, etc.) Look at Cleveland, Wilson Staff, sale pricing on previous generation Ping, Odyssey, TaylorMade... It's pretty obvious that the only reason the Costco putter is getting any attention is the perceived rarity of it after the original K-Sig ball.

I suppose an argument could be made that the pandemonium over the ball was its pricepoint compared to the product's actual quality, and that the same will theoretically be true of the putter. That is, that this $140 putter is actually competing with the $250 Odyssey, Ping, and TaylorMade putters and not the $100 Cleveland and Wilson Staff putters. But based on the initial release, I think that's a really, really doubtful proposition. There's clearly a lot left to be desired with this Costco putter (single length, headweight, subjective looks).

And yeah, the looks part is subjective, but... yeesh. The "Kirkland Signature" logo is unfortunately ugly and looks like it belongs on the facade of a mall in 1992. That prominent logo plus the overall... cheapness... of the looks puts it more in line with those cheap-o $50 putters you can find online from knockoff companies.

The only thing they did wrong is not include the weight kit with this putter imho.

Currently a TaylorMade black copper Soto, but it's always subject to change. Those Kirkland Signature logos all over is a terrible design, that's all I'm saying. Looks like a box set putter. May putt like a dream, but it's ugly.
