Low-Mid hcp swing thoughts?

There are a bunch of things I think need work, but I would love to hear from some others. I usually hit a draw and my misses are usually a pull hook or a block.

My default swing and miss are the same as yours (draw and hook). Full shoulder (backswing) and hip (downswing) rotation are what I key on. When I think back about my misses after a round, I can usually trace them to one or the other not being completed.

You have a pretty strong grip (look how closed the club is at the top of your backswing).

If you don't fully rotate your shoulders going back, the ball will start left and turn over.

And if you slide (instead of rotating) your hips to start the downswing, there's your block.

I speak from experience. :)

As @hagimihale mentioned, you really have to focus on rotating. My miss is also a pull hook because I have a pretty closed face in the downswing. If I get too armsy and not enough rotation, the ball is left going left (I'm a lefty).

Pay attention in the last video of your hands at the top of your swing. What I see is when you start down is you coming over the top which would cause a hook. Need to get back on the same path that you started up on and that will help you with the rotation of your hips also

P2 right elbow is beginning to suck in and face is closed. Also, not nearly enough turn with the shoulder and hips.

 

Below at P3 your hand path has worked quite inward elbows apart and a fairly low hip turn.

Below at P4 your elbows are still fairy far apart which can make it difficult to keep the club on plane in the downswing. The club face is also quite closed there and you lack hip turn.

As far as what I would recommend...Work on moving from P1 to P2 while moving your right hip back toward your right heel. You can’t turn too much (feel wise). With that feel I would feel like your arms are moving outward. Think DJ or Rahm. If you combine lots of turn with arms moving out it should fix the face wanting to be closed, right arm sucking in, and lack of turn.

You have strong grip and take the club away inside and then come over the top. With the strong grip + out to in swing path you will have a tendency to start the ball left of target with club face closed to path creating the dreaded pull hook. I’d start by just working on take away, working on taking the club straight back. Alignment rod behind the ball is a good guide. Then when you start your down swing try to drop club inside of that plane, it will help you start the ball out to the right of target and then draw it back in.
