I did a great full bag fitting at TXG in March but only got new irons and wedges at the time. I added the 3 wood recently and I think the rest of the bag is settled on the bag for the rest season. Well, that's a half truth, I'm looking for a Newport 2 style putter to add into the rotation, but that's about it.

I keep testing things but I don't generally switch unless it's clearly better for me. Anyway, here's the bag for the foreseeable future.

**Whole shebang:**

**Driver** Ping G400 LST 10* cranked all the way open with Aldila XTorsion 70TX

**3 Wood:** Titleist TS2 15 in A1 with Diamana Whiteboard LTD 70X

**Hybrid:** Tilteist 910H 17* playing about 18* (yes, 910) with PX 7.0

**4 Iron:** Srixon Z785 4 Iron (Tour Issue X100). I really didn't like the Miura CB-301 and the Srixon's were my second choice for the rest of the irons so I went with just the 4. It actually blends in really well with the Miuras.

**5-PW:** Miura MC501 (Tour Issue X100). What sold these was the turf interaction. The pre-worn leading edge is absolutely perfect and the square toe isn't something I knew I liked until I hit these. Truth be told I don't care much about the exotic Japanese stuff and didn't think I'd ever buy a set of them, but I simply hit them better than anything else and it wasn't really close.

**Wedges:** Titleist SM7 50F, 54S (DG S400)

Taylormade Milled Grind 58 (I wanted some heel relief and don't like the M grind in the Vokey's so tried this out and it's great!)

**Putter:** Spider with Canadian cover from the 2019 Canadian Open release

Great setup, well though out!

Just a quick question on the bag, I think I saw you post elsewhere that you'd gone to the Flextech Lite from a Ping, what made the difference for you? Thinking about a new bag from an old Ping 4 series, but the Hoofer Lite is getting some seriously mixed write-ups.

The biggest thing for me was the pocket layout when walking. None of the pockets on the Ping seemed to be in the right spot, the water bottle holder may as well not even exist, and the way they divided up the apparel pocket made it far too small to be useful if you need to pack rain gear, etc. This is coming from someone who has used Ping bags almost exclusively since the original L8.

The layout of the TM bag is well thought out, the straps are great and the extra padding when carrying is a nice bonus.

Very interesting - not too surprising though seen as they appear to be modeled on Ping bags, just a shame the Ping has gone downhill in a few departments!

2020 Bag Update!

Back to TXG this spring for a driver fit. After not seeing much improvement with a lot of the combos I finally clicked with a SIM with D+ LTD TX. Only a couple of rounds in and a big adjustment from the G400 LST but I have high hopes for this driver.

New wedge in the SM8 M Grind raw 58* with S400 and back to a Newport 2 putter to start the season. This one is playing at 34.5 and 340g with a Golf Pride Tour Tradition +1 wrap.

The only thing I'll swap in and out is the hybrid and UDI with Recoil 110 F5.

This is the second season with the Tour Bx but I've switched to the new model. Very similar in terms of flight but it's definitely improved around the greens.

I've also gone to the new Titleist Players 4 model and so far so good.

On another note I've added a mat and net in the yard this year, along with a Mevo since our club is limiting the range to warm up only. Mevo is awesome for wedges and irons, but I find the carry distance is well off for driver. It captures the swing speed, ball and spin numbers really well but the carry distance doesn't seem to calculate properly (it's way short). I still think it's great value.
