Looking for cavity back iron forged by Endo

Well according to Srixon & Dunlop and press releases they are very specific that the 7 series is a muscle back design, that is very clear and true it is a muscle back design that's the principal design feature of the irons, just like bridgestone J40, Tour Pride M2, MP66, TM R9, and the last Callaway X.

all having a triangular muscle back instead of a bar.

The 7 is essentially a forgiving version of their 9 series, with a shallow cavity created by the perimeter rim , take the rim off and what you have is exactly a 9 series bladed muscle back . Srixon are very clear that 7&9 series are muscle back design and have been made as such. As they are very clear that the 5 series is their "Cavity Back" iron!

Just label them as players cavity and call it a day. Holding a 965 and a 765 next to each other, it’s very easy to see which one is a MB and which one is not.

no matter how we call them, they are damn goods irons!

They are fantastic Kenny. I've seen them in person and the offset if a little more pronounced compared to that photo. They feel amazing, the shape is clean, and a nice medium size head that really gives off confidence. I'm looking to find something I love and not just really like. These would be money with a little less offset.

Have you checked out Epon Personal 3? They may fit the bill, look great and feel great. If you coincidentally play an x100 they look lovely with black shafts.

So those are pretty much black Bridgestone J40s?

Yes, take off the rim and you have a MB. But the fact that the rim is there creates... a cavity. Also have a wider sole than the 9s so the design isn’t all that close in reality... It’s stupid to argue over but I personally would not call the 745/65 a blade of any sort... a muscle cavity maybe, but not a blade.

They are fantastic irons regardless and should be at least tried if you are in the market for new sticks.

I've got a couple sets of really nice Endo forged Tourstage from a few years back.

The TS-201 http://www.bs-sports.co.jp/press/2001/ts_ts201/ts201_3.html

And the MR-23 US Spec.

I think they probably tick your boxes as far as offset and overall look are concerned.

I would also suggest the Tourstage 701CB.

Awesome clubs.

This is correct. Plenty of tourStage irons to choose from. All great players cavity backs that should tick your boxes. Callaway X forged 2013 is a great suggestion also. I have a set which is my second. I foolishly sold the first set when I wasn't playing them much. Missed them so much I went and found another in mint condition. Seriously one of the best Endo forged cb's to date.

Best value and forged by Endo: Hogan Apex Pus.

Even the designer Jeff Sheets discusses the design theory and who made them here: http://www.jeffsheetsgolf.com/hogan--past-projects

Bumping this because this is such a cool tidbit from tobybear. And on a snowy Saturday night in DC, why not admire the 1999 Ben Hogan Apex and the 2000 Apex Plus? Neat history from Jeff Sheets.

Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 10.5 w/Diamana TB 60S

1999 Hogan Apex and Hogan Aprx CB are both Endo forged. Very soft heads. Just put with right shaft

Srixon 45 & 65 series are forged by Endo.

Yes endo forged But 45/65 are muscle back irons! And the OP said no muscle back!

45/65 refers to 945/745/545 and 965/765/565, so the whole range of irons in that series, not just the 9's which are the MBs.

7&9 series are muscle backs, and 5 series only partly forged.

The Srixon Z 765 Irons have made Srixon's best iron performance even better. The Z 765 is a muscle cavity preferred by skilled players for its traditional profile and exceptional control.

Srixon irons I believe are Endo forged. The z945, z965, and z forged play more like a cb than a blade.
