Sub70 Utility Iron

These feel great. I was playing the P790 and traded them in for my 699s after the demo period. I know feel is subjective but I picked P790 b/c they felt better than the I 500. Without a doubt, the 699s felt better and out performed the 790s. as for the wedge thing. I may be more impressed with my wedges than my 699 irons. I wasnt sure I would fee that way so I kept my RTX4s. Well, I just let a buddy borrow the RTX4s b/c he may wnt to buy them and I am totally cool with selling them. Being able to get the wedges with my preferred Modus shaft was a plus too.

Awesome. Sub70 is definitely getting some of my equipment spend this year... I'm hoping to pull the trigger on a new set of irons. We will see. I have some concerns with "distance" irons, as I already hit irons the distance I want to... Not sure a 160 yard PW is going to help my game, but it might be nice to force myself to step off clubs.

Sadly, my actual play time is severely reduced as apparently my wife "has to work" and my children can't parent themselves.

Does anyone know if Sub70 is a subsidiary of another company, like Titleist is under Acushnet? Reason I'm asking is I want to make sure these clubs are USGA conforming before buying. I can't find any language to that on their website and I'm not seeing Sub70 on the conforming list website as a manufacturer.

This may have already been posted, but they've got a satin version of the 699 Pro if you don't like the black. I'm tempted to get a set. At ~$450, the odds of buyer's remorse is pretty low.

Sub70 Golf and USGA on Google give some good results... a brief search pulls up most of their stuff, so I assume they make all their stuff conforming. I can't imagine it would be ranked on Mai Golf Thai if it wasn't conforming, but the world is a weird place.

My love of my 4 utility continues unabated... It's a great club. Well built, well designed and exactly what I was looking for. I kind of want to get some sort of sticker for it as I use it to make eagles on Par 5s... It' going to be my go to club for that shot.

I love my 699s but I can also attest to the 639CB. I hit them while I was there for my fitting. Based on numbers < i could have gone with the 639s but I don't get much time to practice so Jason and I agreed the 699s gave me all the help i need when i am going 4 months at a time with no practice. Both irons felt great and the 639 profile is probably very similar to what you have in your signature.

Yeah, I spoke to Jason at length last night... I think we have my entire build pinned down... but he doesn't have the club heads right now. I'll likely pull the trigger at some point this year. Really love the 699u I have in the bag. It flat out performs exactly how I want it to...

If you are curious, I'm likely going to go 639 combo black, 5-7 CB and 8-LW MB with S400s (not on the site, but available if you happen to have the CEO's number) at 3/4 inch over standard and 2 degrees up... That's the plan for now, though after today, I'm seriously considering a 5 699u instead of a CB... I've never gotten along with 5 irons.

i Saw that after I bought a set of 716 T-MB’s. I love the T-MB’s, but for the price, I could have picked the Sub70’s with upgraded Modus 120x shafts and Winn Dri-Tec grips. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, if you aren’t looking for high tech, i think sub70 is the way to go.

Happy to have pulled the trigger... I’ll get it out on the course tomorrow. S400 shaft, +3/4 length... if I can sneak onto the course, I’ll take it to the hole that convinced me I need a five iron and see how it goes.
