Ventus Blue Velocore vs GD AD VR

How does the Ventus Blue Velocore compare to the GD AD VR? Any similarity? Other than being Blue.. haha.

The real Ventus Blue seems to fit my profile I am usually fit into. If the AD VR is not it, what would be a cheaper version of the Ventus Blue Velocore?

I tried the Ventus Blue in a SIM 3 wood head, but it really didn't match my swing, which surprised me alittle bit. I actually had better luck with the Ventus Red on the launch monitor with the same head. I have a Ventus Black in my driver and I find that I am fairly consistent with this shaft, so I was hoping/expecting to like either the Blue or the Red for my 3 fwy, but wasn't sold on either based on launch monitor results. If I had to choose one of them, I would have gone with the Red. I have an AD VR in my Mavrik SZ 3+ fwy and I like it, to some degree. It is a lively shaft, with a nice kick, nice feel, and nice ball flight, but I find that I am inconsistent with it. So to summarize, I am still looking for a magical 3 fwy shaft that makes me as happy as I am with the Ventus Black in the driver.

No personal experience, but a pretty good sense of what you are looking for. If you like the Ventus Black 6S, you are looking for a softer handle, firm midsection, firm tip. Neither Ventus blue or black are great fits. I would try the Motore X F1 7 for something lower launching, or Motore X F3 7 for a higher launch in your 3 wood.@OspreyCI Ventus Blue is most similar to the Tour AD TP and more tip stiff. Ventus Red is similar to the Tour AD VR, higher launching with a slightly softer tip. If you are looking for less spin and lower launch than the AD VR, I would try the Ventus Blue or AD TP.

Would not compare Ventus Red to VR at all, not even in the same universe. Ventus Blue is even softer than VR. If you want higher launch then something like the DI in the graphite design catalog would give you soft handle/mid section with more stiffness in the tip to help control spin. IZ would be the next step if you want something a little stiffer in the butt section than DI. There would be comparables from other manufacturers.

You said yourself you have no personal experience with them. Charts are a good starting point but no replacement for actual testing. There is 30 points of difference in the butt section alone on your EI profile chart between Ventus Red and VR. I've hit all of them (including Ventus Blue and Black) except for the TP and the Ventus Red and VR were quite different for me. You simply don't know how something will work for you until you actually get it in your hands.

Good stuff. Thanks. PXG for me into the Tensei Pro White, but I could not hit it high enough. 9* launch was not working for me at 100 mph SS.

Shafts are intended to tweak and fine-tune, they aren't going to dramatically change launch conditions or transform a head that doesn't work for you into one that does. Head characteristics and loft are the major factors. As well, you may need to address the dynamic piece of the puzzle first and foremost which is your swing, AoA especially.

100% agree with this. I have were hard on a better AoA with the driver. It’s getting better, that’s for sure. The VR is a good shaft and I do like it, but the Ventus Blue HAD me intrigued. Might be sticking with the VR and seeing some of these comments and information.
