Sim max settings

Hi All

Looking at a Sim max. Got fitted and I could game either a 9 or 10.5 with hzrdus smoke shaft 6.0.

What are your experiences with adding / removing loft... Should I go with 9 or 10.5...help please!

Did you get fitted then?? I feel like the loft should have been nailed down during the fitting to include which head to use and how to get there.

Maybe go back and ask the fitter??

10.5 - it’s easier to open it up and lower loft than close the face to add loft. Just my opinion.

Yeah, got fitted, I tried the Sim at 9 degree, but the ball just didn't get up enough, was getting 245yd from it. Sim max went higher and further. However, we played with 9 and 10.5 head and was getting decent results with both. I've always had 9 degree driver heads fitted to me, but as the Sim range lowers spin a bit more than other brands, I'm stuck. Do I buy a 9 degree and loft up if needed, or go 10.5 and loft down if needed. The idea of having an open face is getting in my head too much!!

Typical shot shape is straight or a fade.

Swing speed was 108mph

It was done just before lockdown, so I will as soon as I can. Just after peoples opinions and to see if anyone has any experience with using the loft sleeve/ gains/drawbacks. Always been team Callaway, so the TM range is new to me.

As you decrease loft with loft sleeve, the face becomes more open. So your straight/fade becomes fade/fadier

increasing loft via loft sleeve will close the face, thus moving you ball flight to the left assuming you are right handed.

Again never had a fitting myself, but I would have expected the paid fitting to get you to a Head/shaft combo, a certain loft head and loft setting.

I was faced with the same decision. Got good numbers from both on the monitor. The 9* was longer, but my mishits were worse due to lack of spin. I ended up ordering the 10.5 with a slightly heavier (70g) shaft to get launch down. My thinking was I could always adjust the loft down, and since I play a draw anyway, lofting down in a TM driver typically works for me. Well, I was WRONG on that for the SIM max. I tried lofting down and was fighting the right side of the course. It was awful. Given that you already play a fade, I don't think you are going to want to loft down. I adjusted back to standard setting and this thing was a fairway machine........

HOWEVER - with the 10.5 head, I def felt like I was losing some distance. I was hitting a ton of fairways, but the ball would just land and stop, even now that it's warmed up and dried out here in GA. Soooo, in the never ending pursuit of distance, I recently picked up a 9 degree head with the same shaft in 60g and played with it on Sunday. I realized the distance gains I expected and my misses were not bad. My advice, if your miss tends to be the high, spinny right shot...... go with the 9 degree. If you tend to fear the low pull, I'd go with the 10.5.

Perfect info this mate, any cally driver I have had I have been fitted to SZ versions, so I'm guessing the 9° head. Thanks very much for your input

I'm demoing a 10.5 SIM, how do I adjust it to a 9-degree? Sorry I know that's very simple...
