If it helps we have a glimmer of hope that we may be able to travel the last week of September.

Also, I'm going to Cabo on Jul 04 for two weeks unless something really changes between now and then. That's a little different since it is our condo and we won't leave the community. Therefore I'll probably be less exposed there than I am here.

Hello gpeie, can you give me an update about how things are looking in Ireland? We are crossing our fingers that we will be able to make our trip at the end of September. Has there been any word on the 14 day quarantine being lifted for international arrivals?

Hammergolf, it looks like you will be ok for your trip. Golf courses are allowed take green fees from the 28th of June and we expect the country to be fully open by July 20th with no 14 day quarantine. In fact I am playing Old Head in Kinsale on July 1st and had no trouble getting a slot. As of now courses can have members guests so we are nearly back to full qualifying competitions.

Based on current guidance we are now a little concerned that countries will start imposing restrictions on people coming from the US (and some other countries).

Yeah, that is my biggest worry. Although with increased testing comes more positives, even if the overwhelming majority are asymptomatic. The hospitalization and fatality rate rate have dropped significantly but I think we are way past people looking at things logically.

Not surprised. I was informed that this was a distinct possibility a few days ago. US, Brazil and Russia were the countries I was told that were likely to be impacted.

Well the good news is it looks like Pubs, restaurants, and hotels can open back up in Ireland on Monday! Bad news is the 14 day quarantine for arrving international travelers is still in place. Read that phase 4 is scheduled to go into effect on July 20th, but I'm not feeling confident about our trip planned the last week of Sept. through the first week of October.... Just wish covid would GO AWAY!!!!!

Well even worse news this morning. Looks like the Eu will not be allowing people from the US to enter due to increase in cases. Hoping for the best and crossing our fingers, but not looking good right now.

Based on recent meetings from our co., Ireland will likely be even tighter restrictions as well. Some of the bc plans are out into Q1 next year.

As of Thursday, our company guidance matches Ireland guidance for travel into the country:

-14 day quarantine is required.

-CV passenger locator required.

Our PRT states that this is unlikely to be lifted in next two months.

That's what I am afraid of. I have spoken to the courses, and since we are not scheduled to fly until 9/25 we have time before we must decide to reschedule or not. Just hoping for some luck opf the Irish...

My info from team meeting this morning: The decision has been delayed with no new date given. There were some inbound groups from US last week that refused to self isolate and some conflicts; There was pretty huge uproar from people and if anything, many now believe the position will get stricter with legal enforcement. In addition, there is pressure on many to not accept reservations from US travellers. Many golf courses are remaining member only.

So it basically sounds like a few Americans are ruining for everyone else in the world!

Thanks for the updates. Well that is the second delay of the decision but with no new date given I think thats the writing on the walls. Not surprising some groups made a scene. I'm just wating to here back from the courses to make sure we will able to transfer our times until next year. Was planning a backup trip to Bandon in the ireland trip's place, but not real confident even that will be possible....

Just got a note from Dennis who runs Doc travel. The note suggest the restrictions will be in place through 2020. He is recommending those with trips in postponement to plan/book their dates for next year quickly to avoid missing out due to the increase in trips in 2021.

I was in your position and had a trip planned to Ireland for the 3rd week of September. We cancelled a few weeks back and were able to reschedule all of our rounds for 2021 with no issue - all courses were very accommodating in that regard.

We booked a trip to Bandon instead for the first week of October. Being from Seattle, it's about as safe as it can get seeing as we can just hop in the car and drive down.

Sorry guys to hear your trips are not likely to go forward as planned. Great thing is Ireland will still be there when this Covid thing is over and it is worth the wait.
