Play Augusta National or Climb Mount Everest

Well, this is a golf website, so there might be just a slight lean in the voting towards ANGC.

That said, personally, there's no real question here. I'd play Augusta.

And since we are being greedy here, I'd play with my GrandPa, Dan, & Son. And I wouldn't ever give 1 measly little poof what any of us shot.

If you were to successfully climb Everest, I can assure you that it would positively affect your life way more than a round at Augusta. I stood on the top of Denali in '92 and I still think about that day. I have also played some famous golf courses but rarely think about them, especially not nearly 30 yrs later. Denali is no Everest and Pebble Beach is no Augusta, but I'll take Everest all day long.

Also, if you were to post this question on http://www.mounteverest.net, you wouldn't find many that'll take Augusta.

I think it’s sort of ridiculous to ask answer the OPs question without the assumption that you wouldn’t complete the task of climbing Everest alive and unharmed. Of course we are all going to choose to play any golf course as opposed to taking on the extremely risky endeavor of climbing Everest. With that in mind it’s Everest and I wouldn’t even think twice about it. The top of my bucket list for as long as I can remember is playing Augusta National. Climbing Everest wouldn’t even be in consideration because I’m not a mountain climber nor would I feel confident that I would make it alive. But you give me the guarantee that I make it unharmed and I’m taking that all day every day. It’s Everest. Come on.

This post makes me wonder how many people in the world have ever played a round at Augusta AND summited Everest.

 

Quick google search says 4,000 people have summited Everest, and it can cost 50-85k++ to do it, so definitely some wealthy people.

If you could guarantee my survival, then Everest for sure. Great question though. I actually didn't have to think much about it. I've never climbed a mountain, so I'm not a mountain man by any means, but I feel there would be life long lessons learned on that voyage, while Augusta, as incredible as it would be, wouldn't quite be as rewarding.

I can't tell you how many courses I would pick playing over climbing Mt Everest, that is how much the answer is skewed for me.
