Interesting that it's the MP14 and not the MP29. IIRC, he won the 1997 Masters using a combination of MP29s in the long irons, and MP14s in the mid and short irons. Something to do with the amount of offset.

Groove rule change did not affect clubs with less loft than around five iron loft. I think the MP-14 irons were good anyway.

No. Used a 4 Iron. Yes. Has less than 25° of loft. New groove rule does not apply to Irons with less than 25° of loft.

Same! Definitely a head scratcher. Part of me wants it to be that Tiger is doing what I do by taking an old club down to the range for a hit every now and then.

I suspect he was going to use it on the hole but maybe with the rain and wind conditions, it made more sense to go to the 4.
