Titleist by Spaldling?

I think the first Titleist models of iron and woods were by Acushnet. But I've never seen co-branded woods by Titleist and Spalding. I've done a bunch of googling but came up empty. Anyone have information on this?

I seriously doubt this is a collaboration between Spalding and Titleist. I wonder if Spalding put out a Titleist model of woods/irons. The script of the capital T is incorrect for Acushnet/Titleist. I would think that the use of Titleist would be prohibited due to Acushnet trademarking the name. I would think Titleist would be trademarked. My gut tells me this was a decal put on this wood.

I haven't heard of a Spalding Titleist but here is a Dunlop Titleist 2 wood I have. I have also seen a Dunlop Titleist iron.

That's an interesting find, the club looks older than Acushnet's use of the Titleist name, at least as far as I'm aware. That Dunlop script had pretty much gone out of use by the early 1970s and the insert looks an older style too, I'd guess that the club was 1960s in date.

I wonder if Titleist, who had initially been a ball manufacturer only, licensed the name to other manufacturers before the current partnership with Acushnet.

Thanks Russad, I was wondering whether or not to put it in my database of UK Dunlop clubs but if you're in Australia I'll leave it as many Dunlop (and Slazenger) clubs from Australia and UK are distinctly different.

Jiggered: I don't know much about Dunlop/Slazenger in Australia but I believe that they did have their own manufacturing factories which produced golf products as well as other sporting goods, especially tennis rackets. I have tried googling but there seems to be little information available.

First time I ever saw that version of the Titleist logo. Love the 2 1/2 wood!

At least they didn't jack up the 3 wood lofts back then and claim it's the longest 3 wood on the market.

Could the first wood just be a refurb with the wrong logo on top or a new sole plate?

Consensus seems to be a logo sticker added by someone along the way. I have the 2 1/2, 3 1/2, and 4 1/2 woods. Honestly I don't really care what they say because they feel great. I'm one of those guys that always struggled persimmon drivers...I need the added loft of a 2 or 3 wood. The 2 1/2 wood is enough to get me a good launch, and it's way more consistent than a 10 degree 1 wood. So fun to hit.
