Information about Slazenger B51 blade irons

Anyone has information about these irons? I bought them on eBay. The 9 iron is missing. I have failed to google any information about these irons. But I guess they are like 1970 or 1980 irons.

Those are great looking clubs.

They are the Mark 1 and came out about 1978, they were towards the top end of Slazengers's range at the time.

Below are the Mk II, Mk III and Mk IV, as you can see, things slowly went downhill after the Mark 1!

A great looking set of irons. The B51 was the UK top model before the TPM and Seve Blades. The B51 ball was top quality as well, made in same factory as Maxfli.

I do not know the technical details but I purchased a full set of the B51 Mk1 irons 3 to SW and 1, 3 & 5 woods about 1980. I then placed a separate order for a 1 iron.  I am still using these clubs and I have great pleasure in knocking my drives (now and again) past other club members with their new fangled metal headed drivers.

They were my 16th birthday present and I still play with them some 40 years later, managed to pick up the 1 and 2 iron off Ebay a few years ago, unfortunately I don't have the 1 and 3 wood but hope somewhere out there I can pick up the originals, a wonderful club with lots of feel and you certainly know when you have hit one centre of the sweet spot.

These were available in the UK, may still be, I don't know.

However they were mint and unused and came with 1/3/5 laminate woods. They differ from the Mk2 that Jiggered showed a year or so ago. More like the MK1 without the medallion.

I have the 2 iron to the set, when ordering back in 80s the Pro said it will be Mk II as it was a couple of years later as I got more confident with the longer irons from the original Mk I's purchased, thanks to Ebay I was able to match a 1 & 2 iron eventually a few years ago.
