I moved to the area in June and I am trying to reach out to other WRXer's who live locally. I do have a city ID so can play all the courses and not pay and arm and a leg.

 

BTW I have an extra spot for next friday (8/24) at Torrey Pines south at 11:40 if anyone likes to join me and my buddy from back east.

I just moved here from being a golf pro and now work at one of the big 4 companies. I would love to get a round in with you guys. I live in san macros and play every weekend. Probably joining shadow ridge soon unless i can find a better deal

With all of the courses closed we should do an outing once it opens up again.

I know a number of courses in Ventura county (near LA) have opened - Soule Park and Rustic to name a view. 2.5 to 3 hours to drive one way might be a little too much for me

Looks like courses are opening up starting May 1st. So far Maderas and Cottonwood have sent out e-mails of their plans to open May 1st.

I'll put in a big thumbs up for OF as first of all...... THEY ALLOW WOMEN!

 

However, they also have overnight accommodations, beautiful pool, and 2 courses. Butler is only golf and only for men, although I give it a ton of credit as a very nice course.

Just finished playing Riverwalk GC in San Diego. Course was in below average condition. Greens aerated recently, rough overgrown, some fairways in bad shape. No rakes in the bunkers which is ok and the hole cups raised on the greens. Paid $59 for Sunday morning round. I have tee times at Miramar MCAS for next week. Will cost me 1/3 of the Riverwalk price. Overall, glad to be playing golf again after 8 weeks.

Riverwalk is always in bad shape nowadays. Even a month off and all that rain probably didn’t help. I don’t know if it’s the impending closure or the ownership. But everyone there is always awesome and their membership deal is really good.

I left my range there before there before shutdown and didn’t even realize till cleaning out my bag The other day. I reached out and they had been holding it for me.

That’s good on your range. I lost mine on a base course and never got it back. I used to be a member at Riverwalk 5 years ago when all three 9 were open and in great shape. It’s gone down hill. I won’t play there again.

Riverwalk has been a disaster for years now . . . eventually the entire property will become condos . . .

I want to give a shout out to Miramar Marine Corps Base Golf course. Course is in great shape and is the only military course opened in San Diego. Not sure what is going on with the Navy courses but I really appreciate Miramar for stepping up.

That's pretty odd that none of the Navy Courses are open, is Baker Closed as well? Most of their play these days is civillian to my knowledge . . .

Both Navy courses are under the same Admiral in charge of the Southwest Region. Apparently golf is not on the priority list for her.

It'll be interesting to see when they open back up. Big fan of both Baker North and NASNI.
