Anyone compare this to the Diamana D Limited? Looking to try a Diamana ZF in 60TX vs. a Diamana D Limited 60X.

Thanks!

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I'm not quite understanding how "TX" fits in here.

These go from Stiff to Tour Xtra... is there no "regular" X-Stiff, or does Mitsubishi just use "TX" as their word for X-Sstiff? I'm typically 105-110 SS and like a slightly stiffer shaft - but by no means can I handle something meant for those 120mph bombers. (Where I'd imagine a TOUR Xtra Stiff would be appropriate...)

Does anyone have ZF 60 S and TX CPM measured at 45" or 45.25" playable length? (with swing weight of D2 or D3)

My experience with Diamana DF and BF shafts are they play about a flex softer than indicated flex. (Maybe that's why it's smoother?) Tensei line-ups play more true to the flex.

Diamana DF and BF have stiff, x-stiff, and TX flexes, whereas ZF only have S and TX flexes.

So I'm just curious as to what the measured CPM is going to be for ZF stiff.

I disagree with your take in the Diamana shafts. All Mitsubishi shafts I have tried, I’ve played everything but Fubuki, all feel great and play pretty comparable to other like flexes in similar profiles. If you like the TPB in your driver you will like the ZF’s playability. It’s a shade lower spin with similar launch as TPB.

ZF is great in 3 wood. Elevates easily off the deck and is solid off a tee. Tip is stable on mishits and seems to keep spin in check.

Digging up an old thread. Ordered the ZF 60TX in an Epic Max LS. Was back ordered for 2 months because of the shaft. Finally shipped and it looks like they sent a 60 X. According to everything I’ve seen online, they didn’t even have X available. Was listed as TX on Callaway’s site. Did MCA just change the way they labeled the shaft?

Just a little confused and looking for some clarification.

There’s an X, but I’ve only seen it for sale in Japan. Maybe they sell it direct to OEMs. It’s different from the TX.

I can confirm this.  I have a ZF 70X in an 18* TS2 (dialed down to 17.25*).  Solid, repeatable baby draws on tee shots, and has been pretty good off the deck as well.

Thanks. That’s what I feared. Callaway definitely had it listed as tx on their site. Will have to reach out to them I suppose.

It's really nice, sort of the diamana version of the ventus blue.  Lively but still very stable.

Glad you compared it against the VB. I do not get along with that shaft in fittings and tried my buddies driver with and still did not get along with it. Thanks.

For some reason I did not either, the VB feels sorta dead compared to the ZF. I really like the ZF though. I also hit them back to back and the ZF was the clear winner. I struggle with a low left miss and the ZF some how gets the ball to elevate super easy but with out the left miss fear

In my testing they are darn near the same number wise. It came down to dispersion and feel. If you look at my signature, you’ll know which shaft won.

Did you play a 6s in the VB?  Thinking about TB 60x as I am playing the VB 6x right now.  Any help I can get to eliminate my right miss (lefty).  Looking for something smooth that will hold up with 100% swings, but also not punish you if you are swinging 80%.  Home track is pretty narrow but there are a few holes that you can really take advantage of, if you are really accurate off the tee with the driver

Agree 100 % with this take. I tested ZF and VB extensively side by side. The VB had a weird combination of being really easy to load, almost too much so, yet the ball came out low and spinny and felt kind of dead and was noticeably shorter than other shafts I was hitting. The ZF has a nice subtle kick and feels stable but not boardy. Mid launch with mid to low spin for me. ZF is my current gamer but I’m about to build out something with a tensei 1k just for the heck of it.

I gamed VB a few rounds. I just never got confident with it in my driver. It put up good LM numbers but the loading of the shaft seemed to throw my timing off. I started guiding the ball into play rather than free wheeling it. I probably could sort it out but I didn’t because I had TB and ZF waiting in the wings.

I have a tensei 1k 50x.  To me it wasn't consistent compared to the VB, although when you hit it in the center, the ball flight and distance was superior.  I just couldn't hit it in the center with it.

I just got a ZF 70TX un-tipped from the Will Peoples BST thread and put it in my SIM ti 3 wood. It was super windy today when I got out to hit it, so not a whole lot I could tell on ball flight, but my impressions: pretty beefy and the stiffness in the handle is noticeable, but the softness in the mid is also noticeable.  I was a little worried it might be too stiff, but the weird thing I noticed was that every shot felt so so much more solid than with the stock shaft which I have in Stiff flex. Usually a too stiff shaft makes every shot feel less solid to me. I dunno how that works here, other than maybe the materials. I like the 'made-for' Diamana Limited stock shaft in the SIM fairways because it launches super easy, but this ZF makes the 3 wood feel too good. I need to hit it when not hitting into 30 MPH head winds.

@halfsumo, I had the same experience with the ZF in a fairway.  I picked up an 18* TS2 off BST that came with a ZF in 70X.  I typically game whiteboard profiles and half expected the ZF to have too much hinge.  Several rounds later, I am definitely impressed with this shaft.  I can turn it over when needed, but if I don't try to crush the ball it holds its line pretty well, and it feels very stable.

FWIW I have the ZF60S in my SIM2MAX driver and love it. My other gamer is a PXG Proto+ with Ventus Velocore Red6S and honestly I cannot feel a difference between the two.  Both ultra smooth with a lot of stability, as I am a tweeter between X and S flex with driver.  If you like ultra smooth with a nice feel of "load" but require a stable feeling tip, the ZF will not disappoint.  I definitely find it smoother and as, if not more stable than a tipped Tensei AV Raw 65S and more a little more stable/consistent than BF6S.

Lastly, ZF is a really conservatively pretty shaft visually....love the ion finish and "rainbow" script touches.
