Shot Scope V3

Recommended Posts

Another method for using the putter sensor with superstroke grip.

I have one putter where I don't use a counterweight, so I drilled a 7/32 hole in the insert and gently screwed the sensor through the hole. Then used the sensor to gently screw the insert back into the putter grip.

Looks like a slight delay of two weeks at this point:Firstly and most importantly, we hope you and your loved ones are staying well through these challenging times. We’re currently going through something that none of us had prepared for, expected or will ever forget.

The original shipping date was due to be the end of May, but due to lock-downs across the world affecting components, manufacturing and shipping we have had a short delay. We will now ship your V3 on the 15th of June.

We would like to thank you, our valued users for supporting Shot Scope during this time. We know how eager you will be to get back on the golf course and we’ll stay in touch to keep you informed of progress.

The Shot Scope website currently doesn't even show the V3 under "Products", just the V2 and spare tags.

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks like the v3 rollout has begun. After my round today I noticed that my shotscope app (android) updated to a new version. Don't see new stats or features, but some of the graphics are a bit cleaner. Seemed to also connect and sync my round from my v2 a bit faster than before.

The email I received stated shipping on June 15th. Are they really shipping some earlier than that?

I couldn't find my home course as they named it incorrectly so I contacted them. When they got back to me they indicated they would be releasing V3 on July 6. That may be for the general public that doesn't own V2 as I don't. Other than the size of the watch and a color display, are there any other changes vs V2?

The size difference will be a huge improvement. The V2 looks terrible and is way too bulky. Somehow with how big it is the battery life was still lacking and I couldn't get it to last me 2 rounds on the days I played 36 holes. They claim battery life is much improved...I think I saw 10 hours somewhere. Those were my biggest complaints about the V2 and the reason I got rid of it. I can't wait for the V3 though since they fixed my deal breakers.

Thanks so much! I've used Game Golf off and on since the middle of June 2015. With some of their website issues recently, and rumors that they may go out of business, I tried Golf Pad TAGS. It is similar in that it uses NFC and requires you to keep your phone in your pocket.. It has great promise at a very reasonable price but I had too many scanning issues and identified too many inaccuracies in the stats and other issues. Lost of stats are great but useless if they are inaccurate! Their customer service is really very responsive, but they are apparently a very small company and only one of the several issues I identified is supposedly fixed and will be available in the next version in the Apple APP store.

I guess one thing I lost in the specs when I got so excited about the design and battery life was 30cm GPS accuracy. That sounds fantastic and should help with those putting stats. I always wondered how accurate they were on the V2.

still wonder why they don't use/allow use of Apple Watch....are their GPS chips more advanced?

Surely creating an app would be easier than making both hardware & software

I'd be highly surprised if Apple is anywhere close to 30cm accuracy. We'll never know because they would never publish a spec like that I'm guessing.

The V2 is barely 3 - 4 meters. I will be very surprised as well if the V3 gets anywhere close to 1 meter much less 30 cm. I think the V3 must be using a dual frequency GPS. That would be the only way to approach sub-meter accuracy. I don't think the Apple watch has a dual frequency chip, but I could be wrong on that.
