thanks for the clarification. I loved the m5/6 fairways and this SIM fairway is an absolute monster, im just disappointed TM hasn't released a true 4 wood the past 2 years. Most likely im gonna go with the 5w cranked down 2*.... Thanks!

I was a 3HL player when they still made them. More recently went 5 wood lofted down. I certainly prefer the look of the Sim, but missed being able to throw weight out in the toe easily. My issue with literally every fairway wood I've ever played has been the big left miss. I just picked up a tour issue M5, prices are more than reasonable now, to fill the "4 wood" slot. The M5 allows me to mitigate that left miss as much as possible and I was able to pick a 17* degree head, so it was a win/win.

First round with sim. CouldN’t hit the driver for the life of me so back 9 just used the sim 3 wood. Shot 1 over and was hitting it further than my driver (granted could not find middle of face at all with driver).

also last hole 540 uphill, cold into wind. 29 yards short of green with 2 3 wood shots. Feeing pretty good about this purchase.

You guys finding the SIM fairways launch more than the older M1's? I still game the 3 and 5w and even when I'm setting the 5w at 20*, it still isn't peaking out too much higher than my 3w. I've been tempted to take the sliding weight out and slap in a ton of hot melt but that's probably a horrible idea.

Anyone thing the hzrdus black would be a perfect fairway compliment to the hulk in the driver.

I have the Rocket 14 Titanium set to 15.5 slightly upright.... paired with the Ventus Blue 7X this is the straightest 3 wood I've ever had. I now have a club I have confidence to hit on those tight par 4's, even slight dog leg lefts I've always had trouble with... This with my SIM Driver are game changers for me... Hopefully the courses around here stay open..

I just got my SIM rocket today. I was able to sneak to the range this afternoon and I really like the sound, and strong fight. I can't wait to get it out on the course.

Did you ever find out what the SW for the 3 wood was? I have a SIM 3 wood and it definitely feels lighter than my previous fairway woods. Does NOT feel like D3 as stated on their specs.

I didn't, unfortunately. Ended up putting the stock weights back in 3w and 5w as even the 6g weight was a bit too heavy. Just going to take me a bit of time to get used to them as my M4 3w and 5w were point and shoot. Tend to catch a lot of shots really low on the face with these.

Need a little help guys. Looking at purchasing a new “Tee” club for when driver is too much. I’m trying to decide between the Sim Rocket, Sim Max Rocket or possibly even the Mini One....again this will be Tee only club. Of course with things closed I can’t go and look at them in person or even hit. I’ll more than likely pair it with a Rogue Silver 70s. Any benefits or downside to either of the three. Also I don’t mind the larger head size of these as my current 4 wood is 147cc and can be a little uncomfortable off the tee.

Driver:  MIZUNO ST-G 440 (9.5d) - Lin-Q Red 60s

Fwy:  MIZUNO ST-G Titanium 3w (15) - Lin-Q Red 60s

Fwy:  COBRA F6 Baffler (19) - Hzrdus Red 75/6.0
Hybrid:  COBRA F7 Hybrid (22) - Tour Blue 85s

Iron:  MIZUNO Pro 245 (5 - G) - Recoil Proto 125 F4
Wedge:  MIZUNO T24 Denim Copper (54/10) - Recoil Wedge Proto F4
Wedge:  TAYLORMADE Hi-Toe Copper (60/10) - Recoil Wedge Proto F4

Putter:  LAJOSI DD201 Copper Flow or MANNKRAFTED MA-55 Flow
Bag:  BENNINGTON LQO-9 Stand Bag or Ogio Silencer Cart

Anyone try the sim max 3 wood vs. the 3 wood rocket 14*. Heard the sim max is higher launching so maybe the 14* would be the ticket but curious if anyone tried them both in the real world. On the monitor I couldn’t tell a big difference with the rocket carrying few more yards.

Just took mine out: it's 2g and I think it has already been mentioned in the thread. Replaced it with the M4/M6 weight in 4g since I hate lead tape. With a Fujikura Ventus Blue 7X that is -1/2", the SW is perfect at D2. Love this 3-wood along with the Max driver.

You can get new weights from Billy Bob's or they are easy to score all over eBay...

SIM fairway looks closed to me unless I have it set to -2 loft. Could not get the ball going left to right to save my life with it and I usually have no issues hitting a cut. It’s shafted with 80g smoke black 6.5

I got my 3&5 SIM Max on Wednesday, got to use them for the first time yesterday. And let me be upfront: this isn’t a humblebrag or trying to poke anyone’s eyes out!

I hit them too far, I hit fairways and love the feel, but they just go too far. My driver is a quite constant 250m carry and 260-270m total distance beast, I love it for being reliable like that.

During fitting the 3wood was quite constant at 230-235m carry, 250-ish total. As they didn’t have the HZDRUS green for 5woods, we assumed it would do 210-215m carry and about 225-230m total. Not ideal for gapping as the 4i was supposed to go 190-195m total, but manageable. Turns out I hit the irons further, about 205-210m for the 4i, closing the gapping so the fitter and me hoped. Well no.

Yesterday the first drive was 266 total with the 3wood, then the approach was 240, so I grabbed the 5wood to have a little chip into the green.. I hit it on, 242m. Both further then expected, but nice to hit the green on a 510m tight par5.

Next hole Is a par 3, the hole after that is a 402m par4. I hit a 306m 3wood, that’s much longer then I hit the driver. Sandwedge in is nice, but I wasn’t expecting this! Next hole is normally a 5 wood off the tee, can’t go beyond 230m so I had to grab the 4i, that is not my usual comfort zone for this hole. Next hole is a par3, hole after that is 379m par4. Tried my best to hit slower, didn’t feel too nice, but did the job at 242m fortunately. Next hole is a shortish par4, normally a 205m 5wood and 9i or pitching wedge: 5wood went 234, through the fairway into the rough, just a sandwedge in again. Next hole is normally another 5wood off the tee due to water hazard at 230m, had to go for a 4i again (didn’t hit it well, but fairway so that something). Last hole was another crazy one: 276m 3wood followed by a 269m (WTF) 5wood to end up 25+m over the green, OB on the chipping green. That hurt ?

I’m seriously thinking about either dropping the driver and putting in a 7wood due to the huge (35m?) gap between the 4i and 5wood or having to swap out the driver for possibly a SIM variant to be able to out-hit the 3wood.

This has pushed me out of my comfort zone, sure I’m not used to the woods, nor the new irons for that matter, but these distances are so much further than I’m used to that I don’t really know what to do with it yet.

Slapping the ball around a bit, having loads of fun.
