Really considering these irons as my next purchase, along with possibly ap2, jpg 900 tour and maybe try few others. Done quite a lot of research on the apex 16 pro and seems very positive reviews. Now I just need to get down to the proper club testing and fitting and see which works best for me.

The apex pro 16 iron been out now nearly 2 years and don't seem to have come down at all in price. Think the best I found was around £800 for 4-PW with project x shafts and new decade MC white grips which were extra.

Any body recommended any online sites for clubs? Or just stick with callaway own website if I decide to go with the apex pros?

Great irons! I bought a set on a whim and could not be more pleased. They handily knocked a set of JPX 900 Tours out of the bag, and have been rock solid ever since. Unlike you, I wasn't in love with the look, but the performance has been exceptional. Great feeling irons, accurate, and LONG. The sole grind really sets them apart from other player cbs. It is a very forgiving leading edge with plenty of bounce to help through the turf. I'm really enjoying them.

I have a set played with once. Decided to stick with my MP irons. They are solid. PM me if interested. AMTTI S400.

I just picked up a set and they very quickly sent my i200s to the BST. As far as comparing to the AP2 I had the 714s and these seem a bit more compact and felt much softer to me. My Apex pro's have KBS shafts while the AP2s were S300 if that makes any difference.

Callaway Preowned is the best place to buy these. Lots of them on there.

I am playing my brand smacking new set of CF16 pros and I have to say my Mizunos are starting to get worried. If my back 9 goes as great as the front. I will be playing these for awhile.

To be fair. The CF16'S have C-Taper Lites verses my 900 forged has Modus 105 shafts.

I bought a set this spring, my handicap has dropped from 6 to a 2. Now I don't think the irons themselves were 100% responsible for that, I think a large part is that I actually got fit for a set of irons. Before all my irons had the DG S300 shaft and where standard loft and lie, when I got fit, I found a shaft that worked better for me, and found out I was 1 degree upright. I came from 710 AP2's which I got brand new, I was tired of spinning them off the greens, so I went looking for something else. When I got fit I hit the 716AP2's, JPX900 forged, i200, and a few others, but the apex pro for me felt the best and with the project x 6.5 shaft, gave me the best results. You really can't go wrong with any of those clubs, it's what feels best in your hands.

I had the 14s and have been playing the 16s since they came out. IMO they are softer and longer than the AP2s. In my testing they beat out the AP2s and CBs in every category. I am a Titleist fanboy so having the Apex Pros in my bag says a lot. They are sweet! Also, a lot of Callaway staffers play them on tour for a reason... You won't be disappointed.

I own a set but have since switched to the CF16. They're good irons. Look good, perform well. Good turf interaction. Traditional lofts but longish for the traditional lofts.

They are not super forgiving for low toe misses but not terrible. When I was swinging well loved them. My iron striking had become my weakness so I switched to something a bit more forgiving in the longer irons.

Great sticks though!

I'm glad this thread was started. I've asked a couple golfers that were not buddies,or my regular golf guys what the best forgiving players irons are. They all said apex pro 16 without hesitation.

I game the mp5 now,but I need something just ever so slightly forgiving. I'm a great ball striker, just not on 100% of swings. So I may have to test these. Given the reviews I've read and word of mouth. Op-happy searching.

I love my Apex Pros, they feel great, are very forgiving for a club that isn't super big, and look nice in the bag. Feel is very subjective, but i've hit most iron sets on the market this year and nothing has made me want to switch

I hate chrome. I've said it in 100 threads to where people joke about it with me. But i don't like the chrome. I wish they had made these in a satin of some sort.

Probably the best set of forged player's clubs I've hit. Enormously forgiving for as thin of a top-line and somewhat compact profile they have. Superb through the turf and easy to get in the air. I'm just moving to a set of T100 irons but only because I've picked up quite a bit of speed over the last 2-3 years and the shaft is no longer the best fit for me. I'm hoping the T100 are just as good. I'm never selling the 2016 Apex Pro's though, hit way too many great shots with them from the 4i all the way down to the PW - I've had them in the bag for 3 seasons and kept them in tip-top shape and they will stay in the family for sure! Enjoy them and definitely post your results if you end up with a set.

As many have mentioned, these are some of the best forged cavity backs available. Turf interaction is great in almost every condition and the forgiveness will surprise you given its footprint.

Have them in my “second”bag. Love them and they feel great. My Hot Metals are more forgiving (obviously) but the 2016 Apex Pros are very forgiving for their thin top line and overall size. Great irons.
