Hey Coz! Just came across this post and your reference to my review of the Mackenzie Walker. I do in fact still have mine and it looks and performs as well as it did when I first got it. Granted I don't use it every round...but it definitely has seen it's fair share of action.

Hi everyone! I'm starting to save up for a Mackenzie bag. I'll be graduating from medical school next May and am planning on getting myself one as a graduation gift to myself.

My question is this: What material should I get? Price isn't really a factor for me, as I'm willing to spend whatever would end up being best for me when it's something of this quality workmanship. Cost aside, what are some perks of leather vs waxed canvas vs ballistic nylon? Does one have more longevity than another? Anyone wish they had gone with a different material or are extremely glad they went with what they did? I'm hoping this bag to last me for a long time and to hopefully pass it on someday. For reference, I take very good care of my golf equipment (I baby the crap out of my gear, almost to a laughable degree). I appreciate any recommendations! Thanks y'all!

The waxed canvas is the most resistant to water, has a very unique patina that only gets better with age and just looks fantastic. I believe it may also be slightly lighter than leather (could be wrong) but for me, if cost is not a factor its a slammmmmm dunk.

For those who went with leather, any issues playing in wet weather or mornings when there’s a lot of moisture on the ground?

I have a leather Mac and when it's wet or heavy dew, I make sure and dry it out when I get home. Empty clubs and everything out of the pocket. I then wipe it down to remove any dirt or mud and hang it in the shower to dry. Once dry I rub it down with leather conditioner and its good to go. Ive had my bag since 2008 and it has a nice patina.

@Binson I use Lexol leather conditioner - seems to work pretty well.
