Srixon Z585 Replacement this Year?

Does anyone know if Srixon is planning a Z585 replacement this year? Do they typically (as if this year is even remotely typical) release new product in September?

Also, how do you get on with your Z585s? What do you like, dislike? What did you come from or leave to?

I believe their normal cycle has been fall, so this September sounds right. They waited until Spring for the Z Forged so it’ll be another year for those I’m guessing.

Correct that normal cycle would be a late summer release. But heard the release will be pushed back to the beginning of 2021.

 

Hard to better the current 585/785 line though.

A buddy of mine is a Srixon sponsored pro. He said back in Jan, new Srixon sticks this year.

But now that might all change with the shutdowns of all manufacturing and commerce around the world.

I can see this getting postponed until next year, as Ping have done.

I'm waiting to see what Srixon, Ping and Mizuno release, before making any decisions.

i think the best hope for a forgiving forged iron is the next generation Z585. Do you find any other forged irons more forgiving?

Whatever they come up with I hope they make it look good again. Zx45 series were the best looking in my opinion. 65 and 85 are much worse.

I absolutely agree with this!!! The squared off toe on the earlier generations was soooo much better.

 

If they resemble the 45 style heads (not rounded off), I will buy two sets. No question

Couldn't agree more. I am still playing the 745s. Really didn't like the rounded look of the following models. They were a big step backwards IMO.

A 745 headshape with a 785 cavity would be good. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with. I love my 745s but after 5 years it's time for a change.

I'm holding out to see what Srixon, Mizuno (JPX) and Ping come up with.

Its hard because I know I am not patient enough to wait till spring 2021 for the next release. Might end up in another combo set before then.

If anything, i just hope they can better match the blades with the others as they did previously. Like the looks of the 85s or not, they have that straighter lines on the cavities, yet the z-forged is more flowing lines. Kind of a bummer if you want to blend in all 3 from the range. Not the biggest deal, but the 45s and 65s did a much better job here.

Wasn’t in a video. Was on Mikey’s Instagram story. Someone asked him a question about them and he said he just responded with a quiet/hush emoji (I guess that’s what you’d call it). Very speculative but could have said something like “nothing till 2021” if they weren’t planning to release...

I had confirmation directly from Srixon on Instagram that replacements are coming "later this year" albeit not the exact month. September is my guess based on previous release cycles.

Love my 585's. This is my 2nd season with them after a fitting last Spring. The black paint in the cavity has started to chip/flake a tiny bit but it doesn't bother me. I'll probably take a look at Srixon's 2022 release but cant imagine replacing the 585's any sooner. Good feel, good forgiveness on toe strikes (my tendency), and I haven't noticed any issues with flyers.

Would love to see something between the Z785 and Z585. Have just started hitting the Z585 and really liking them.

Something with a bit more tech/help in a more Z785 package.

I have the 765s, but like the 745s better. I liked the little bit of heel relief too. I hope they put out a better gap wedge for the set as well.
