Fit into Callaway Apex CF19, cheaper alternatives?

Hoping the more experienced out there can help me with a predicament.

I am a 16 handicap who has played Nike VRS irons for over 10 years. I recently had a fitting and it quickly settled between Srixon z585 and Apex CF19 in a Project x lz 6.0 shaft. Feel of Srixon was preferred but the dispersion on the Apex was much tighter.

Now since it settled into those quickly I didn’t get to try any offerings for Mizuno, Cobra, or other models. Only other attempt was ping I210 which was not for me.

Apex 6 iron swing speed is 86mph with an average carry of 175. What other models would be similar to the apex with the Px lz 6.0? Appreciate any help that can be offered.

You should check out the JPX 919 line from Mizuno, they are currently discounted since a new line is apparently coming out. I think the Hot Metal Pro may be most equivalent? Not sure if they will work for you or not, you'll have to hit them and see. I think your angle of attack and general club delivery will have a greater impact than your swing speed on what may work for you or not. But with the discounted pricing I think it'd be worth your time to at least go hit the 919s.

Try Canadian Ebay. Call Pro shops around by your city. Good luck on your search.

I had Apex 16 for two years and now play Rogue Pro and love it! Apex may feel softer because of Forged but Rogue Pro is not far behind. Be sure to hit Rogue Pro.

Mavrik pro...or used rogue pro would be my call being lefty...hard part is going to be finding Lz shaft in them you will need a club maker to build it because both alternatives are parallel tip Lz is taper only......another option Ap1 718 or T300 because you can order Lz with zero upcharge...slightly bigger than apex but highly underrated

Under construction....

I play the CF19s but absolutely hated the CF16s, so I personally wouldn’t just assume that since you like the 19s the 16s are a good fit. Second the recommendations to check out the Mizunos. Hot Metal Pros were runner up in my fitting, and if you liked the 585s for the feel then you will probably like the HMPs too.

CF16 is the closest you will get. Mizuno Hot Metal Pro would be fine but since you are left handed, you'd have to settle for the Hot Metal and the slightly more offset and thicker top line. Cobra Forged Tec Blacks would be pretty good and I know Golf Town is blowing them out for $1000 + you get the Cobra Bonus Bucks (whatever that means). Srixon 585 would also be really nice and they are about $40/head cheaper and will allow you to get your fitted shaft in them free of charge.

Except their pricing at times is a bit absurd and seems to be tied to the exchange rate as they try to move things on the bay. You can find deals here and there for sure, but for irons sets its usually hundreds more than just the normal used market. I mean almost $500 for a set of '12 Ansers… $670 for a set of 714 AP2s...

Just as a quick update, found a good condition set of Apex cf16s with px lz 6.0 on callaway pre owned that I pulled the trigger on. Even with exchange rate and shipping it seemed quite a good deal.

hopefully the “good” condition is very good and they play similar to the Apex 19. Appreciate the feedback from everyone.
