Iomic Sticky 2.3 Grips

Anybody have experience with these? They seemed to be all the rage when they came out and I really liked the feel the couple times I swung someone else's club with them but just wasn't going to justify the spend for them when I liked the new decade multicompounds as well. Was just browsing eBay and it seems you can get a set of 13 for $50 now which seems to be significantly lower than I remember. Thinking about pulling the trigger but wanted to get some thoughts here first. Thanks!

I've been using Iomic grips for a while now, like 8 or 10 years, and I'm not interested in changing. I prefer the X-Evolution, but have the Sticky on some new Titleist irons, as that was one of their no-cost options. To me, they start feeling "grippy" and stay that way for a good long time, several years even. The only thing I'd be concerned about is fakes, I've read that people do sell fakes on eBay, but I don't have direct experience with that. If they're the real deal, that's a great price.

$50, those are fakes, sorry, the bay full of them

IOMIC are usually no less than $12 each

The best grips on the planet. Awesome in cold and wet for me, YMMV

The only negative is they are a total pain to pull if you want to move a near new grip to another club

I've heard the same thing on the fakes. Any idea how to spot them? This is the link I was looking at and it says they come individually wrapped in plastic which I figure is a good sign to start.

The seller looks fairly legit... The price does not. Less than half of what I paid for mine.

But if they're the real deal, Iomics are awesome.

You can tell by price. As @cardoustie said, they are usually $12+ a piece. Anything meaningfully less than that is almost certainly fake.
Also, just because the seller is using pictures of what look like genuine plastic wrapped grips does not mean anything regarding what you would actually receive when you buy. If you check the seller's feedback there are also a few negatives sighting fake grips. Stay away from these eBay listings.
I will echo what was said about how good the grips are. They are worth spending the money to get genuine ones. Use something like grips4less to be sure.

Been playing Sticky 2.3 for years, they last forever....I play about 60 rounds a year, finally replaced driver grip after about 4 seasons.

They are my favorite grip and go on all my clubs.

As far as EBay goes, the $50 is way to cheap, betting they're knock-offs. Iomic has warned of 'fakes' for years, I usually pay about $10-12 each, depending on quantity I purchase at that time. Used to get from some Ebayer from So. Cal, they were legit aka 'real'.

I've been using stickies on all my clubs and because I have a constant influx of clubs and shafts(I'm a club ho), I'm always on the lookout for more sticky 2.3s. I bought some of the cheap ones from a seller on ebay to try. It's really apparent they're made of rubber. They're almost like a tour velvet but a bit thinner feeling and rougher. They definitely don't last as long, become pretty slick when wet and has a distinct smell.

I've attached pics of the fake sticky (on the left in both photos) and a real sticky 2.3. Weight wise, all of the real stickies were pretty much bang on at 50 grams and the fake ones could be anywhere from 45-54 grams. The pattern of the fake one is similar but narrower and spread further apart. The real sticky holds its shape really well while you can see the fake one is kind of bent. Hope that helps

For those that use the 2.3 how does the outer diameter compare to say a standard tour velvet or ndmc? I play standard grips with two extra wraps. I’m thinking of Iomics for my next regrip, but am pretty sensitive to the diameter when installed.

The point is Iomics are made in Japan, at least the real ones I have in my inventory are. Be aware of buying counterfeit gripsMaybe this isn't or hasn't been updated, but https://www.iomicgrips.co.uk/technology.html

"Made in Japan, Most Advanced Quality ControlAt present, most golf grips are made in China, Taiwan, and Mexico. Other company produces in these countries because their labour costs are less by holding down those expenses, they hold down the product cost. But we have found that the only way to maintain the quality that we insist on is to produce our products in our own factory in Japan.

I have seen the fakes next to the real and three things stood out to me.

1.) The fakes have a different smell to them compared to the real

2.) The color (red) was slightly different

3.) The line going up the side of the grips was raising compared to flat on real Iomics.

All of this was fairly obvious with two next to eachother but would be tough to see online.
