So I have never walked 9 holes until today. I wanted a way to exercise and golf, and also run if I wanted. I was thinking push cart but decided against it. I though about biking, or some sort of pedal cart. What I settled on was getting 2 silo club carriers which hold 6 clubs each and holding one in each hand. 3 balls in pocket.

I must say it was awesome! Walking around the course is refreshing, also I played 3 balls, and it didnt seem to take any more time than using a cart. I got to run/jog 200 yards a couple of times also which felt pretty good (out of sight lol).

There was another unexpected benefit, since I had to carry 6 clubs in each hand idk maybe 2 pounds, when I got up to swing the club felt soooooo light, and my forearms were ready for action.

I'm not sure I would have enjoyed pushing a cart nearly as much but I really liked the quick pace

I've used the same club carrier for my minimalist 6 club setup. I use an old camera pouch with a belt loop to hold balls. Utility iron, 5/7/9/53* wedge, putter.

I've gotten a few questions and weird looks, but my score ends up pretty close to normal.

It is a nifty little device, like the button on the alarm that turns it off for a time - both, of which, merit a lot of use. Three to four clubs if I play the course as par 3, five to six clubs (all irons) for full course, but for me the all-iron option is played at the most forward tees. I pair the carrier with a runner's belt (see photo) and sometimes wireless headphones (see photo). If headphones, do not/ would not, then, hear, "fore" - note that my mother once told me I could only be hurt if I was hit anywhere other than the head - but how does one resist Copeland's Appalachian Spring and Bill Monroe's anything this time of year?

I just ordered one of these on Amazon. Seems like a neat device for range trips and minimalist rounds.

I am still relatively new to the game and am hopeful that minimalist rounds will help me to work on creativity and shot-making. Kind of silly to be excited about such a little thing but I am.

I noticed that my minimalist rounds take a lot of the guess work out of the game. For instance, a normal 160 yard shot for me could be a knockdown 6i, a faded 7i, or a full 8i. With my minimalist setup, it's a 7i every time, no questions asked. Similarly, off the tee box it could normally be driver, 3w, hybrid, utility iron, or 4i depending on the hole. In my minimalist setup it's utility every time, 225-240yds with good position control.

Priority is on positioning and hitting greens in regulation. My short game options are very limited with one wedge in my minimalist setup, so my course management strategy involves avoiding the worst possible trouble and keeping the ball in places where I still have a normal pitch/chip shot for an up & down.
