Can't seem to find a PGA Pro who can fix this in my swing.... HELP

Well actually I asked opinions from multiple people because the average joe “pga pro” never once addressed my issues at the top. I asked the pro I was working with and all he said was slow your swing to snail speed. Meanwhile, I want every pro swing as fast as they do and they don’t do it. Clearly something was wrong with my swing if they can swing twice my speed and still not have those issues.

I'm going to chime in because you do what I do which is over extend in the spine, over rotate if you will, because you have the flexibility. I still battle doing this and unfortunately if you continue to swing this way, you'll battle back problems. What has worked for me is setting my right foot neutral and/or even slight toe-in so that I feel some muscle/range of motion restriction in the backswing -- otherwise I don't feel like anything is restricting or stopping the backswing. This has made some difference, maybe 5-10 degrees less in the backswing.

Look into some good golf functional core strengthening exercises in the meantime with emphasis on avoiding over rotation in your lumbar spine.

Did any of them address that you need to feel like your transition starts sooner? Every athletic move has a transition starting as soon as you take it back. If it's throwing a ball. Hitting a tennis ball. Hitting a baseball. Just trying to put your arms in a position won't work. If you think of it from an athletic point of view you won't overswing or the weight won't get outside your right foot.

Update. I have been trying to get my hips to have more depth in my swing. I have been doing that but I am shanking a lot of balls. The club still gets under plane to start and then loops. I have one drill with feet together to keep better balance. You’ll see two other fulls swing (DL I, DL Driver, FO Driver). Then I have one other drill I have been doing where I take the takeaway, stop at the top, and swing. My club path seem to be extremely loopy. I don’t understand what I need to do to get that correct.

You are over rotating the left arm - your takeaway is okay but then once you get to shaft parallel you rotate that left arm and get that elbow pointing toward the target line - elbow needs to stay pointing down to ground - rotating that arm gets the shaft going back flat, and behind you, you end up swing around your body. stop rotating the arm and stand the shaft up. Takeaway is fine it's after p2 that the issues start - roll the arm, then continue arm swing with right arm folding too much, going across the line, etc.

screen-shot-2020-06-28-at-12-25-10-pm.pngSee it lots on here - folks get the shaft going horizontal too much, get the lead arm to much across the chest, and then overswing to "get the club to the top" Transition then doesn't stand a chance to synch things up.

Something like a smart ball or range bucket between the arms would go a long way toward shortening and synching the swing (and help you keep the club more in front of you). Hips is not the focus - you need to improve how your arms working beyond the takeaway - too around you versus up. Have to feel like you are standing the shaft up.

@glk Imo opinion looking at your right leg and the slow lower body start of the downswing you have let almost all of the good tension go in the right leg, which will not only rob you of easy distance but make other things happen with the arm swing that shouldn't.
Try tilting your shoulders a little at address and use your lower body loading as a sign the backswing is finished instead of cranking your shoulders so much. I used to swing like you btw, it's hard on the back.

"Shirtsleeve" swing technique:

1. Setup: Elbows bent forearms pressed together against shaft slightly forward of center with "Hogan" "active/flexed" leg tension left foot turned out slightly and the right leg slightly farther to the right - weight mostly on balls of feet butt of left hands sits on the top of the grip with very light grip.

2. Swing - W/o disturbing weight distribution of legs and feet lower hands while doing a forward press "swing trigger" then the left upper arm takes over on the backswing, it needs to go out in front of the body then back in front of the chest as the hands trace down initially then up to over the right shoulder "Torres". The goal is to not disturb the pressure of the feet during the initial takeaway.

 

Notes:

1. Only swing thought after swing trigger - extend left arm at shirt sleeve when reaching left hand over right shoulder "Shirtsleeve technique".

2. The upper left arm move "Shirtsleeve technique" can be practiced independently without a club, sitting down for instance

3. The correct feet tension can be felt by doing very short hops on the balls of the feet then holding the same feeling of pressure on the front of the feet and then taking three practice swings with the grip very loose in order to not disturb the same pressure on the feet and on the 3rd swing actively do the "Shirtsleeve" move. From there the swing should be done within a matter of seconds to not lose the feel of the legs resisting, this way this is not a learned technique as much as it is a setup technique.
