I face a lower trajectory with my irons, always have fought that, low draws. I was hitting the irons with a 20 degree trajectory, 145-150 carry (that's usually my total distance with the G410's), and these rolled out about 8-10 yds total distance. I got more rpm's, about 5300 with the F9's and they stopped fairly quickly on the greens.

Their lofts are 1/2 degree stronger than the Ping G410's, yet they launch the ball higher, and thats all due to technology, like the tungsten weight in the toe and heel, face thickness, forged face, speedback design, sole thickness, pwrshell face, high moi, cnc milled faces, progressive spin technology, progressive hosel lengths, ......lots of goodies!

What shafts? Similar on G410 and F9?

I ordered mine from Cobra after getting the email they are offering the club in limited quantities. I LOVE it! Got it with the IZ 95x a 2* flat and 1* strong - I have only had the chance to use it a few times so it's very possibly a honeymoon phase; but super easy to hit

Has anyone tried the F9 irons with the modus 120 stiff and x stiff? I went in for a fitting yesterday, but they didn’t have both flexes so I was only able to try the shaft in stiff flex.

We tried the Mizuno swing analyzer and the modus 120x was probably the 5th or 6th shaft on the list. I tried all of the shafts from the swing analyzer’s top 6 and liked the modus 120 the best. 90ish mph 7i swing speed and if I remember correctly I was a 4 in the tempo and release results from the swing analyzer.

1st range session with the F9 4i used as utility. Stock loft, 19* I believe. Dynamic gold 105 x100 shaft. Pretty much same setup as my gamer utility, Tmb 3i. Shaft is slightly diffferent though.

F9 is definitely a larger footprint and you can see the back of the head at address. Not sure I like that. Definitely more forgiving on off-center strikes. I expected that to be the case vs the Tmb. The club performed well off the T and deck. Its definitely more forgiving for me off the deck compared to Tmb. I thought it also was a very good feeling club. This might actually go in the bag and replace the Tmb - the forgiveness factor being the main reason. Will have to overcome the look at address though.....stay tuned, lol.

Yes. My control is way better with120 shaft. The stock shaft is too light for me. The iron feels 100 better with the heavier shaft if you can handle it.

Replaced my i500s with F9 Speedback irons - couldn't be happier. Spent a lot of $ on the i500s so I tried like heck to love them, but it just wasn't happening. These feel better by a freaking mile, much more consistent, and no loss in distance.

Yeah I agree, the feel of these irons are fantastic. I ate a lot on my G700's I sold so far am really happy.

I think the F9 4i is going into the bag. I hit it really well and it is much easier to hit compared to the Tmb.

I bought an f9 4i off maple hill on eBay. Came with an Atmos black shaft. I honestly can’t imagine how much better the Rickie version could be over this club. Stupid easy to hit and booted my Mizuno MiFli 3i after one shot.

May be worth a peek if you’re looking to save $200+.

Disclaimer: I have not hit the Rickie iron and it may be worth every cent.

Oh I agree, there is no real need to spend 350 on this club. You could just go with the regular 4 iron and get it with a steelfiber and you'd probably be very close to the Rickie 4 iron. That being said, I think the AD IZ shaft looks so cool in an iron.

I really wish I had bought these when they came out, they are amazing irons. I hit some shots today that were all grins. Hit a 9 iron to a tucked pin 3 feet away, incredible. They get up and go. It makes golf enjoyable. The top line is to thin for me, but looks impressive. Some complain about the cavity area sticking out, but I never noticed it while playing. These are very versatile for me. On a par 3 I thought I would be short, nope, long. As someone said they are long off the tee.

Bag is in overhaul mode

Wish I had picked these up in the beginning last year instead of trying to make what I have work. Did demo them a few times last year with great results but kept going with mine instead. Just picked up a new set for $399 today so maybe it was meant to be. Couldn't pass that up especially knowing how good they are. Now we only got 4 months to go before the season starts up. 10 inchs of snow tomorrow but a packers game on Sunday makes it alright.

As a Packers fan will it pain you to cheer for my Vikings today? Tough task today, but hoping the Vikes and Pack meet up in the NFC Championship game.

Anyway, the F9 are great clubs, I played them last year, but trying something different this year with Apex. Great distance, but also descent angle and enough spin provided plenty of stopping power. Enjoy.

I would love to see vikings vs packers but honestly I have massive doubts about the vikings even coming close to pulling a win off in that dump of a city San Francisco. Hell I think the packers may be in trouble tomorrow competing against the energy of the seahawks.

I tried numerous different irons last year but the f9's were on a different level compared to everything else I tried. Hopefully that carries over to the course. I think $399 for a new, full set of irons is worth giving them a shot this year.

I bought a set of F9's, KBS tour 90 reg steel shafts used from globalgolf on ebay.... 4-GW. Clubs were like new. Played a couple rounds in 40 degree weather and playing these clubs are like cheating. I consider myself a very good iron player and these irons will take me to another level. My previous sets were Adams CB2's and CB3's. Paid $394 for the 8 irons. I hit the 7i around 150 - 155 yds in the cold weather....

Not changing my username but
had a hole in 1!

I agree about the giant "KING" text on their recent clubs. I wish they would use the C with the crown on top logo instead, as I think that looks way better.

Side note...have any of you guys trying the F9 hit the new forged TEC? It's pretty awesome and more forgiving than it looks.

I got these on sale from Golf Town for $720 Canadian, 5 to GW, steel shaft, last week.

All winter long I have been trying to learn how to hit my Mizuno JPX 900 Forged and I thought I was a great iron player coming from the 714 AP1's since 2015 till late last year. I have tried different irons this winter and these are the ones that really did it for me. I gave up on the JPX 900 Forged after trying to learn then for 5 months lol and bought the F9's. First hit indoors and no adjustment whatsoever, they just feel great right off the bat. They felt like they have been my own irons for the longest time. They are long, straight, I cannot complain at all. The 5 iron and 6 iron are rockets. I would love to tee of using the 5 iron on tight fairways. That thing is crazy.

A usually play the same course on a simulator when I am testing irons out so that I can see how they would behave compared to my old Ap1's. So far I have tried the Jpx 900's, Ap1 718, 919 Hot Metal, 919 Forged, Tommy Armour Atomic, Taylormade P790's. Of all those irons, the F9 came on top, for me. The distance, dispersion, ease of use, everything was amazing. I can't wait to play these for three straight days in real life, starting tomorrow.
