Getting there.....

So I am finally showing progress that I have made in refinishing this carbon Confidence hand made Al DiJulio X. Thanks to geogolf, oneaugusta, Lamont and other great WRX'ers for helping me along the way. It was dinged up pretty bad, had some pitting and the platting was flaking off in places. Still have a lot of work to do and decide on a finish.

Looking really good. I'm working on an old Lynx putter just like this right now. I stripped the nickel and tumbled the carbon steel head after removing the nicks. Planning to apply some black Cerakote soon.

So here is an update on the putter. A bunch more Hand sanding and work on the flange and top line. Cold blued and oiled. Going to have to strip it and start over. I can't emphasize how important cleaning and degreasing the head in acetone or brake cleaner to get rid of any dirt and oils. Thought I did and didn't. Still looks okay but could be better. What do you think???

I think it looks terrific in the pictures. Sometimes you can be too close to a project and be hyper critical.

My suggestion would be to set it up to your specifications and putt with it. Then maybe consider changes.

Thanks!!!! just traded for someone who loves 8802's The Confidence Hand Mades, were later found that they were forgings from the Hogan factory... Al DiJulio I heard was a grinder for Ben Hogan....

Same for me and amazed by a Confidence ESP 5 Bob Williams Grind I just bought. I am boxing up what I traded for this putter right now.
