Srixon 506 or J33 CB'S

Im throwing the MP60's into the mix as well.

 

Correct me if Im wrong, but in terms of forgiveness (most to least)- 506, MP60, J33CB's?

 

Softness?- MP60's, 506, J33CBs? (or J33 then 506)?

FWIW - I played Mizunos (Comp EZs) for 5 years (with a lot of time whacking MP-29s and -33s with friends - awesomw on pure shots, ruhhed on poor shots) and own J33 combos (which I will probably sell soon) and I chose the i-506. Ball flight is higher (with S300) an dlook at setup fits my eye. All IMHO.

 

The J33 Cavity backs are the best looking cb on te market, no doubt. But the i-506 gave me the look at setup, plus a little higher ballflight and a little stability that I wanted.

Srixons all the way! I have played Mizuno MP37's for the past 3 seasons and started off this season with MP32's, but once I go tmy hands on Srixons I did not look back. Great feel, workability, forgivness, and a head design that is playable form all types of turf conditions.

 

May I throw the Srixon I302's in the mix. They are more of a players CB, compared to the I506's, and the MP60's. Great set of irons, that can be had for $360 form 3balls.com. IMHO, the best forged CB iron.

- Doesn't the sole of 506 look a bit large? More bounce?

- In terms of softness, is 506 closer to Miz or B'stones?

Mp 60s are more forgiving and Bridgestone availability sucks so if you need something other than the s300s off ebay you better to be willing to wait for a while.

 

Mizunos are softer with higher ballflight. J33s feel firmer and clickier but still very nice. Definitely a more boring trajectory. both are nice clubs but as a company Bstone sucks

I went through the same three clubs and chose the 506. My reason was that its the most forgiving of the three. I felt you needed to be pretty darn good to play the J33, single digit hdcp I would think. The MP-60 were great too, it was a tough choice betweent he too. I like the look of the MP-60 better, but the 506 hit higher and was more forgiving on a 12-13 handicaper.

The 506 is much more forgiving and if you need help getting the ball in the air, the rifle shafts are available no charge. The Srixon is the most underrated iron out there right now IMO. Classy and a real sleeper.

... hey art, the 506's are H-U-G-E. i could never play scoring irons that size. the j33 cb's are one of, if not the best blade-like cb on the market today. i really wanted to try the 695cb's, but am so happy with the performance of the j33 cb's, i just can't see tryin anything else for awhile (i know, i know... but thats my story and i'm stickin to it) i can't comment on the forgiveness compared to true forgiving cb's, but to me they are everything a blade is, yet more forgiving. oh yea, they are very soft, almost mizuno feel and certainly softer than anything else i've hit.
