South Myrtle, least busy

I have a couple of little guys who can't get enough of hitting balls. I want to encourage them to play (and it's fun for me) but there is not really much in the way of par 3 courses or first tee type stuff down here like where we moved from. Any recommendations for the least busy or kid friendly facilities south of Myrtle Beach? We are down in Pawleys. Thanks.

Tupelo Bay in Garden City, has a par 3 and driving range. It may be a good place to take them.

Thanks for the response! We have been there and it serves our purposes well. The only downsides are a) it's 30 min away, and b) walking 9 for our family of 4 is more expensive than 18 at a founders course. That is a great option, but I would love to also find a place that we could get out for a quick outing and let them hit a few even if they weren't playing on every hole.

The south end of MB is mostly mid to upscale golf.

 

You mentioned Founders courses, I think due to kids play free. The Founder Club near Pawleys isn't very popular, because it does not have a range, crosses a couple streets, has some blind shots, some tricky holes and is challenging. It may be not busy, especially in the PM, and you can always let others through.

If driving to Georgetown is OK, there is Wedgefield CC. It is too far from MB for package play and locals. It had gone out of business, but reopened.

I have not seen it after reopening, so don't expect much, if it's still open after CV. If open, it should be uncrowded and low cost.

I am going down to MB next week as my parents live off 501 in Conway. I want to try some new places aside from Legends/ Myrtlewood/MB Ntl we normally end up at. How is the International GC of MB? I see some online deals for $55. What my dad likes to play vs me are 2 different. I want a course we both can play from our respective tee boxes. He likes 5700-5900yds and I want another 800-1000yds so I can hit driver.

Last summer I only got 9 holes in at Wild Wing before the skies opened up on us, We may try there again. At the end of the day, I want a good challenge with some length for me and playable for him playing up.

International Club is at about the level of Myrtlewood + MBN West/South. Legends, KN, Wild Wing are better courses.

Near 501/Conway, also consider: The Witch (wooded, no housing), Wizard (links style), Man O War (forgiving but water lurks), Shaftesbury Glen up Hwy 905. These are nicer than Int Club. I am a MB visiter, so I can't confirm which is in the best condition now, but I haven't heard anything bad about them. Wiz + MOW still have bent greens, if you want to play bent, although probably not fast in the summer.

Arrowhead is also good and well maintained, located off 501 near the waterway bridge.

MB does most of their green aeration in the summer, so ask about that. You can check out the 5 near 501 courses in person the day before playing.

I am leaving in 17 days, i am taking my teenager to Whispering Pines to play. I am playing Parkland and Long Bay for my adult rounds.

Most courses in MB kids golf free, I'm 27 now, my Dad started taking me when I was 6, some of the best memories are in MB (my fiancee and i actually just got back yesterday from a golf trip to MB with my Dad). Easiest way is to call the course and ask, but the majority are kids golf free (I'm not sure if it's one per adult, it might be) I'd definitely recommend getting them out on a course, just go over the etiquette and pace of play so that no one can blame them after shanking a shot ?
