Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2, Real or Fake?

Scotty sleuths... trying to determine if this Scotty Cameron I picked up from a reputable online reseller is legit. Concerns I have are as follows:

Branding on sole of the club is odd, says "NEWPORT" and "2" on separate lines versus most 330g SS that list "NEWPORT 2" and "35" 330G" on two linesMilling on the face seems non-genuine (e.g. shows the ()()()()() markings common among fakes)Bettinardi grip is oddPaint scheme is more like a Newport (e.g. "Titleist" on face and "CAMERON" on rear is not white paint filled)Putter looks brand new (reseller said it had been "refinished" by the previous owner), odd for a putter sold in 2002-2004Did the magnet test and it doesn't stick, may be some slight adhesion, but slides off freely. Everything else about the club looks genuine, so if it is a fake, it's a damn good copy (milling is precise, wording looks good etc).

Genuine Scotty, and a beauty at that.

Clearest indication that it's been refinished is the second photo where you can see the sparkle from the glass bead blast. But other than that, the original milling marks are still clearly seen and the putter is in top shape. If you're looking for a "vintage" gamer you're probably not going to find many others that are in better condition.

As others have said it is definitely real

magnet would not stick to this putter. It’s stainless as you know

magnet only sticks to carbon putters

 

additionally that face milling is definitely legit

Putter does not look refinished. This has the original milling on the face. It looks like it is all original.

It’s been blasted. Very easy to bead blast a putter without affecting the milling. Done this on dozens of putters. The milling is definitely original. Only the slightest bit removed close to the top line of the putter. Likely had dings on the top line and that’s why it was redone. Very well i might add.

Thanks all, very helpful. Did the stamping of the model on the sole vary through production? Trying to work out why this putter has “NEWPORT” and “2” on separate lines (detailed on the 1st photo), but nearly all of the same model on eBay etc has “NEWPORT 2” on one line and the weight and shaft length on the second line (see below from the archive on the Scotty Cameron site)?

What I have been told, there are no fake Stainless Studios. The fakes started appearing after those models.

The Newport 2 model stamping is correct. They didn’t list the weight/length specs originally on these so the 2 examples here are some of the earlier production runs.

Is my scotty cameron newport 2 studio stainless real? I got it off second swing. I believe weights of some kind were added and that it was maybe refinished. I’m really scared that it’s fake. The link is the ebay version of the second swing sale.

the putter in those photos looks 100% real.

 

Scotty Cameron’s of that time period are not generally faked

That’s a real puttter with aftermarket weights added 

pretty steep price for that putter, but it’s real
