@Fujikura Golf So being a typical wrxer I made a mistake and have a couple questions for you? Swing speed 111 mph, fast transition short backswing, AOA +4 path in/out 4 degrees. I played the Blue 6x NOT tipped in my G410 LST at 44.5" (best combo ever). I went a did fitting and we decided to tip a 6X 1". I have been struggling since, so I ordered a 6X and now wonder if I should put it straight in or tip it a 1/4"? I was looking for a little tighter dispersion. I also put a 7S in my 3wood but we tipped 1.5" and I am wondering if I messed that one as well? I feel I have to really try and load both of the tipped shafts... Thanks as always...

I have tried a lot of stuff over the past year and Ventus and the Motore X are tops for me in the total package category.

Atmos Black 7x untipped at 44.5” vs the Ventus Black 7x in the same specs.
Any idea what the Swingweight will be with the Ventus if the build right now is D4.5 with the Atmos?

IMO unless you have a crazy swing speed or prefer extremely stiff tips I wouldnt tip the Ventus at all. Tipping 1" or more screwed the pooch.

I bought a 7X from a fellow WRX’er and he made the mistake of tipping it 2inches. I was going to throw it into a 3 wood but since everything was closed I haven’t been able to cut it down. I asked Fujikura about it and they said that extreme of tipping makes it about 10-15% more stout than a normal 7X. They recommend no tipping or I believe 1/2 inch on drivers if I remember correctly.

In my initial testing of the Blue 7X untipped in my new 3 wood, I’ve never tried a shaft that so profoundly helped me absolutely dime the ball repeatedly in the sweet spot.

 

The blue loads easily in transition and then absolutely explodes through impact. It feels like I’m hardly swinging it and the ball speeds are barely less than my G410 LST driver.

I played the Ventus Red 7x prototype last year in my XR16 3w and it was a great combination. Launch is more mid/high than "high" but the stability and consistency is really what shines. I have never been a big fairway wood guy, but that 3w combo became my go-to for days where the driver wasn't working or I needed to hit the fairway on a tight hole. Easy to hit off the deck and even hitting down on the ball didn't produce too much spin. For a higher launch shaft it definitely plays true to flex, not soft by any means.

Got another Red 7x for my Mavrik SZ 3w that went in the bag this year and it already has become a club I have a bunch of confidence in and like to hit.

I’ve got a Red 7X in a Tour Issued Mavrik right at 15* (15.2 for exact measurements). I have the 7X Blue in a Tour Issued Flash SZ as well. I like the Mavrik better. Don’t know if it’s the Red or the head but I think a lot has to do with the head as it’s more shallow and I like those. The Red feels nice, does get up higher than the FSZ with the Blue. Both feel smooth to me. Good spin so don’t think it’s going to go crazy with high spin numbers as some think. I get decent roll out. I play a high draw as my normal shot but still can hit straight or a fade. A bigger fade is my issue as I’m late or leave the club face a little open, nothing fixes a bad swing. As Knutson81 says, not soft but doesn’t feel harsh or boardy to me. Stable and nice high shots, also seems to go better through the wind than other shafts (Ventus in general).

I put a Ventus Red Velocore 5S in my SIM Max. It felt like I was cheating. I put a few swings on the ball that I thought for sure would snap hook into the woods but somehow the ball faded back into the fairway.

I'm a high handicapper and sometimes I unintentionally hit a draw and sometimes a fade. Ball almost never went left with the Ventus Red. Did miss a few that ended up being a push fade. I need to adjust to that.

I'm having trouble finding information on which swing speeds fit into which flexes with the Ventus. Looking at either a Blue 7S or 7X, I swing between 110-115 with a medium quick transition. Miss is a hook if that matters. What would people recommend?

That is pretty square in the middle of the x range.

Went from a HULK 6X to a Ventus Black 7X. Ventus is noticeably higher launch and a lot smoother. Haven't hit it enough if its actually longer but feels a bit more forgiving.

Ventus black is easy to load and won’t go left. Ie snap hook. Now you can pull it but it won’t be a 30 yard pull, maybe half. Mine is untipped. I find it hard to believe the adapters are not as stiff as the shafts themselves. So why tip?

I love driver shafts with a little softer handle and the Ventus sounds like the ticket.

Had my first range session with Ventus blue 7X in a TS3 3W (coming from Hzrdus yellow HC). Took a while for me to make the adjustment, but then started to stripe them nicely with good numbers across the board. I was only hitting from a tee so I need to test off turf next.

As others have said, the shaft is very stable but still feels smooth. The feel of impact is a little more variable, because when you hit center you're rewarded with a powerful and satisfying thwack but mishits are a little more harsh than usual because the tip is so stiff. But this doesn't bother me. I play blades in my irons and like to have a precise sense of strike.

I was hitting these a little lower on average than my current shaft, and the flex felt like the max of what I can handle. I am normally a high ball hitter, so I would advise people not to automatically jump to the Ventus Black thinking that the Blue is going to launch too high. That was definitely not my experience.

The fact that people assume they’ll hit the mid launch or high launch shafts higher based on profile, is why it’s so important to go on profile of how the shaft feels, not simply OEM launch profile.

I hit the Atmos Black higher than the Atmos Blue, simply because the more linear profile of the Black allows me to square up better for my swing.

Ventus Black 7x should arrive finally this week for testing.

Can anyone give an honest comparison between the VeloCore and the shaft used in OEM clubs that does not have the VeloCore labeling?

If I have tried the OEM shaft have I tried the aftermarket shaft. If I don’t like one will I not like the others performance?
