Dream Foursome

You're part of a dream foursome..... Any 3 players you could play with who have played in the past 30 years - dead or alive - with the goal of picking up parts of their game that you wish you could have. Also, just having fun with the guys...

I'd go with

Bubba Watson

Phil Mickelson

Payne Stewart (he's my dark horse - his iron play was SO good back then)

Purposely leaving out Tiger because that's just too easy.

Seve Ballesteros for short game, Fred Couples for ballstriking, Nick Faldo for strategy.

Jim Furyk (goofy looking swing, relatively short hitter compared to others on tour but still performs, I'd love to see his approach to the game)

John Daly (I think he would make it an absolutely unforgettable round)

Fred Couples (just to try to emulate how smooth his swing is)

This is kind of a mix from picking up things from them and fun. I have a really odd looking swing that at least still hits the ball pretty decent, so I have naturally been a huge Furyk fan.

I've got two dream foursomes for the golf course.

The first would be my buddies back home. I live in a different state and we only get to play a few times a year. They play quite a bit. Wouldn't turn that group down for anyone.

If we are talking legends of the game, my first pick would be Tiger. I know - super typical. To round out the foursome I would probably say I'd have to add in Spieth and Mickelson. Obviously Spieth is an unremarkable pick for most, but ran into him in a Dallas restaurant one time and while we were waiting to be seated (yep, he was waiting too) he chatted it up with us for about 5-10 minutes. Didn't even talk golf. His girlfriend was extremely nice as well.

I would pick someone who looks like they might actually like to talk about the game with a regular joe, like John Daly, Jim Furyk and Bryson. I am a Hogan and Tiger fan but I don't think conversation with unknowns is their strong point.

"Shirtsleeve" swing technique:

1. Setup: Elbows bent forearms pressed together against shaft slightly forward of center with "Hogan" "active/flexed" leg tension left foot turned out slightly and the right leg slightly farther to the right - weight mostly on balls of feet butt of left hands sits on the top of the grip with very light grip.

2. Swing - W/o disturbing weight distribution of legs and feet lower hands while doing a forward press "swing trigger" then the left upper arm takes over on the backswing, it needs to go out in front of the body then back in front of the chest as the hands trace down initially then up to over the right shoulder "Torres". The goal is to not disturb the pressure of the feet during the initial takeaway.

Notes:

1. Only swing thought after swing trigger - extend left arm at shirt sleeve when reaching left hand over right shoulder "Shirtsleeve technique".

2. The upper left arm move "Shirtsleeve technique" can be practiced independently without a club, sitting down for instance

3. The correct feet tension can be felt by doing very short hops on the balls of the feet then holding the same feeling of pressure on the front of the feet and then taking three practice swings with the grip very loose in order to not disturb the same pressure on the feet and on the 3rd swing actively do the "Shirtsleeve" move. From there the swing should be done within a matter of seconds to not lose the feel of the legs resisting, this way this is not a learned technique as much as it is a setup technique.

Everyone has their bad moments, still Bryson looks more personable than most. I could be wrong. I still would prefer him to Hogan, Nicklaus, Woods or any other guy that has a reputation of not putting up with a lot, like my swing haha.
