Best ball for moderate swing speed single handicap

I really enjoy the feel of the CS off the driver, feels like I killed it, awesome! I have an 80-85 swing speed, so I like the softer feel. Just bought a dozen of the new B RX ball. I did have that weird CS ball from time to time, but I have also had that CS ball that is spot on and plays forever. I also get ones that spin back into the fairway, I like those. Played B330 RX before Chrome Softs, and decided to try something else, now I am back, we'll see.

About a 105 Driver here, but I rarely crank irons at full speeds (play 6 iron around 175, 190 is where I got fitted as a max). TP5x has been the best performing ball for me on all fronts the past few years. Bridgestone BXS has also been a top performer, but they feel... heavy to me? Not sure if that’s the right word.

The Kirkland 3 piece has also been a good budget performer to me when I don’t feel like shelling out for TP5x. I do lose a bit of distance on the driver (5-10 yards), but it’s a solid performer around the greens with my swing.

Just saw this so will chime in...we sound like the same player. I'm a 7.2, probably barely swing in the 90s on a good day, am turning 60 soon, and am all about fairways and greens. I always joke that I can just write down 82 on the card before my round and it will most likely be correct. Started playing the TP5 (not the X) and my last three rounds were 77, 77, 75. Not sure that it's all about the ball but I usually play a ProV1 and just put the TP5 into play after a friend gave me a box (which will last me a year) : ) Good luck.

Great scores! Congrats!!!

"just write down 82 on the card before my round"

I say the exact same thing. LOL!!!

Until this week. Broke par for only the second time ever. Last time was when I was a 3 hcp on my 40th bday.

I turn 60 this week. Almost exactly 20 years to the day. :)

I've played the Snell balls for the last few years. I'm 68 and on a good day my SS is mid - upper 80's. For the money I just don't see another ball better than Snell. And I've played them all.

I ahev been playing the ProV1 the past 5-6 years after playing mostly the X Callaway tour ball for a number of year. I am 57 with bad knees and 95mph is as hard as I can swing. The ProV is easy to control, reasonably long and good around the greens.

Today I tried a sleeve of AVX balls and hit a couple of bombs off tees, but also had a few uncharacteristic ballooning slices so I'm not sure if I will try them again. I don't hit it far enough to lose many even now when I am only playing occasionally.

After a couple practice sessions with the Maxfli Tour, I played 18 with it last Saturday and shot an 82 with 2 lost balls and a couple missed birdie opportunities.

I've been playing the Callaway Chrome Soft 2020 and find it much better than the previous model. Before that, it was the Z Star which was very good. I've also switched on and off with the Snell MTB-X.

I'm going to play another round with the Maxfli Tour because it seems very good for the price. Distance is stellar and spin seems adequate when hitting into the green.
