Cleveland RTX Zipcore Wedges

I dont mind the zip core on the back. Give me raw and I'm good. My RTX4s have been great these past few years, but I need a new set of wedges!!

Info off the home page.. Super excited for these. Raws coming later, I am a huge fan of DG spinners. I would not want that in say a 50 degree wedge as it can be a bit wonky on full swings but, I would love it in 56 or 60 where I hardly ever take a full swing.

Forged is not getting released in the US. That is an old picture of a Japan release from last year.

Interesting release. The ZIPCORE branding is a bit much, but the wedge looks good. Design at least sounds interesting. Curious to give these some swings.

Not just zip core, you also get UltiZip (yep real thing) Grooves.

Not a fan of releasing spinner shafts on stock clubs. I personally don’t think it’s a good shaft on full swings which at the end of the day are still going to be taken with almost every wedge besides a lob for the majority of golfers. If they had regular DGs in 46-56 and spinners in 58-62 that would make much more sense. Also what’s up with OEMs putting “tour issue” shafts in stock wedges now. We all know it’s not actually a tour issue shaft. They just like the heat transfer decal better than the old DG wedge stickers.

Newly designed spinner shaft. And apparently they will have additional grinding options on the RAW version when it comes out...for an additional charge. X-Low grind is gone which is a shame because it's the best grind for everything IMHO.

Bring back the original 588 shape with the new grooves. Double bonus points for a BeCu version.

Sounds like they will make the x low for a small upcharge on the raw!

That grind has some seriously high bounce right up front. You would be surprised how well it handles full and partial shots. The 'extra low' and '3 degree' bounce descriptions is very misleading.

I have an X low. So I am aware. I still do not think it is that good for anyone. I think it is an ego play. Most need more bounce, not less.

Just watched it and they raved about it. I will admit after looking through some more pictures these look a lot better than the older RTX4's.
