I'll save myself an intro here, as I have more important matters to attend to (duh), but wanted to see if any Ohio/Columbus peeps could potentially be on the lookout. Here is what was in my car.

- Epic Flas SZ w/ EvenFlow Green 55g shaft 6.0

- Rogue 3W w/ EvenFlow Blue

- Callaway X Forged 18* UT

- Titleist T-MB 4i

- Titleist CB 8-9 (luckily 7-5 are at the golf shop)

- Vokey 50*. 54*, 60*

- Nike Method Core MC-5i putter

- Titleist Stand Bag

Ping Moonlite bagNike Zoom Victory ShoesCaddytek Push cart

I know it's a long shot but if you see anything come up (Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, GolfWRX) please reach out.

Stay vigilant!

P/.S. the car that is missing is a 2020 Toyota Corolla, Silver, Ohio Plates (seems more important)

People are the worst sometimes. Good luck with everything, hopefully they show up, or at least you get an upgrade.

I had my car broken into a few weeks ago parked outside my house. Luckily I always take my clubs inside, but they managed to steal 3 pairs of old golf shoes...

I'm in the Dayton area and will keep an eye out on the local Facebook/Craigslist listings.

You seem more concerned about the golf clubs than the car. Which means you are definitely in the right place at GolfWRX. :-p

Sorry, I couldn't help it.

Priorities man. There was a point years ago where my clubs and associated golf gear in the trunk were worth more than my car.

UPDATE:

Car was found and recovered by CPD late Tuesday afternoon in a detached garage behind a house in a rough area. All 4 wheels were stolen and it was up on blocks. Was able to go see the car at the impound yesterday and there was no additional damage done to the car, which is a huge blessing. Looks like the towing company actually may have done the only damage when they allowed it to slip off a cinderblock in the impound lot, but it will all be covered by insurance anyway because the whole thing is due to theft. I was going to pursue a claim against them, but it will be one less party to deal with since it will be covered by insurance.

As far as the clubs go, no dice. Had everything listed above in the trunk and none of it was recovered, so I'm working with some friends and other super generous golf nerds to get some gear. Regarding insurance, car insurance DOES NOT cover personal items in the car, only the car itself (they can reimburse up to $200 for "personal effects"). I had recently moved into a new place here in town and had not changed over my renters policy, so those clubs and gear are a loss. Luckily, when I called the golf shop, I did manage to leave all of my irons there (5-PW), so really just trying too piece the top and bottom parts of my bag together.

Very grateful for some awesome people and friends in the golf community! Definitely looking for wedges right now, ideally 50* and 60* vokeys to likely finish off the bag. Thanks for all of the concern!

My buddy worked at golf courses in FL (FSU) and at Maryland University. I forget which course it was but he had his clubs straight up stolen from in front of the shop. He said they pranked each other all the time and it took him a good hour to conclude that his clubs were actually stolen. I'd be so heart broken. Best of luck with the clubs. The car, not so much.

Had it happen to me back in the 70s. they got my custom Spalding Elite 333 irons and a custom Izette driver. Never saw the clubs again. I had full coverage since the car was a 69 original big block Corvette.

Fast forward to the mid 90s--- I got a call from a Detective in Florida. What was left of the car which was basically the floor pan , chassis and firewall were recovered in South Florida. The car was stolen in Charlotte NC. Seems there was a Corvette theft ring going on and the people had abandoned the property and there was about 50 Corvettes or what was left of them on the property. Talked to the Detective and he said all the old info was still stored and they tracked me down from the VIN. I asked about the clubs and he was a golfer himself and he said "trust me I looked all over for those clubs" and they are not around here. He asked if I wanted to claim the car and I told him technically it was property of the insurance company they had paid off in 78. He did send me pics in the mail and the car with a lot of time and money could be put back together but it would never be a matching numbers car.

So yep I know what you are going through and glad to know there are some good folks in the real world and on here helping you out.

I had a bag of hockey gear stolen out of my garage years ago. I could never understand that. It wasn't even nice or new equipment. If you have never smelled sweaty hockey gear, its a pretty foul smell. I couldn't imagine anybody wanting to touch it. Anyway, I called the only place I could think of that would give anybody a nickel for it...Play it Again Sports. Two weeks later, they called me and said somebody tried to sell it to them. They "held it for evaluation" and I came in and confirmed it was mine. As mentioned above, the deductible was too much to turn it in and I got lucky that it was recovered. The only valuable piece of gear in it was the skates, which were only a few months old and ran about $400 at the time.

My big question is why is a Corolla the 7th most stolen car? I have a Corolla....I can't imagine why anybody would want to steal it.

Up here your clubs stolen out of your car are part of a home insurance claim .. I went thru it as well

are you sure the more appropriate statement isn’t “my clubs were stolen, while they were encased in my car”

I imagine it's mostly because there's a zillion of them. The insurify source lists 13,000 thefts but only 2 thefts/thousand corolas. Even the most stolen vehicle, the Honda Civic, is only 6/1000 vehicles, again because there are so many. Plus they are simple, easy to hide, cheap.

Once my pickup truck was broken into on my driveway at night. Clubs had been in the backseat. I came out the next morning and feared the worst, only to find the thing missing to be a puffy down jacket and raincoat, and the change in the ashtray. Apparently one of the local bums had wandered through and was cold. Clubs, toolbox, radio all untouched. I was rather annoyed with the jacket but all in all I was lucky. I just remember the pang of fear seeing the door ajar and can imagine the OP's pain right now.
