The other site had a podcast and they said they have the numbers to show, looks don’t matter with putters. All about performance. Best selling putters are not the best performing. Most of the best performing have been way down on the popular/purchase list.

Honestly, I am in the market for a new putter and am seriously intrigued by the Axis One but the price is off putting. I am just tired of getting bombarded with ads for the Pyramid Putter which as per the ads are about to sell out quickly for the last two months, lol. If they could offer a lower price on maybe a group buy that would be an option I would consider.

How many new drivers/shafts do you go through? Guarantee you hit your putter more times than any other club in your bag during a round.

For many of us, the bag just doesn't change that much. Sure, if you spend hours here at Golfwrx you would think that every golfer swaps out his entire bag every week or so but that's simply not true. I played the same driver for at least 10 years and my irons have been in the bag for at least 15 years. And yes: we all know that the putter is the most important/most used club in the bag but you're missing the point. Who -- out of sheer curiosity -- wants to shell out $450 for a nice new putter that MAY OR MAY NOT WORK? Sure, I have the cash to toss at a new Axis1 but unless I'm confident that the stick is going to make my putting improve by a noticeable, measurable margin, why spend the money? Obviously, the price of putters (like drivers) is increasing every year and I suppose if a designer can get $300 to $500 for a short stick, more power to him but seriously....unless I can be convinced that this (or any other putter) will make me better on the greens, I'd rather spend my time PRACTICING instead of SPENDING.

This argument makes a lot of sense and is very applicable when the product is only a variation of what already exists. In this case with Axis 1 as well as with our tech at L.A.B. golf, the tech is unlike anything you have ever used. I liken it to going from wood to titanium or steel to graphite. Torque in putting is very destructive to consistent results. There are a handful of us exploring this and the results speak for themselves. Justin Rose is putting better than he ever has. Luke List just won last week with great putting stats where he usually needs to out ball strike everyone to win. Our guys on tour have improved and if you read our thread on this forum as well as any of our reviews you'll see that guys are actuall making more putts. The comments aren't about how good it feels or how sexy it is like you see with most putter reviews. The testimonials are about results. Reducing or eliminating torque from the putter face simply makes putting easier. You still have to practice. You still need to read and execute. But if you do it with our putter or Axis 1 or Edel torque balanced, its just a little easier.

Everyone saying $450 is steep for a putter, how many of you bought a new driver this year and didn't bat an eye at it?

That I can understand but a lot of these really high performance are not always the most eye appealing, but after seeing what they can do you kinda get use to it, don't notice it or it doesn't bother you cause of the confidence.

My guess is that virtually everyone who dropped hundreds on a driver this year went to the range or the cage with a launch monitor and saw an increase in distance, accuracy or both. THAT'S why they sprung for a new driver.... it was worth spending $400 or more. Now, in answer to the L.A.B. guy who spoke of a technical advancement, please know that I very much DO appreciate the concept of a physics leap in putter design. I've been curious about the Axis1 for quite a while now but I have yet to see one in a shop in order to roll a few putts and then make the jump. Most will agree that ordering a $450 putter online -- untouched -- is quite the ask. In addition, while I observe with great interest the improved putting from Justin Rose and Luke List, the question has to be asked: if using a technically superior Axis putter leads to significant improvement on the greens, why isn't nearly EVERYONE on Tour bagging one?

Suggestion to Axis creators: consider a demo program. Golfers pays a fee in order to receive a (used/demo) model in order to try the club for a few weeks. If he likes it, he orders a new one and returns the demo. Or: golfer buys a new Axis for $450. If he, after a few weeks, decides to return it IN PERFECT CONDITION, he's charged a $100 "re-stocking fee." The putter is returned and can now be re-sold to a thrifty buyer for $350. Everybody wins.

I got involved with L.A.B. thinking to myself "this is so good EVERYONE will be using one on tour as soon as I get out there." For me, it was so good I couldn't even understand how I ever putted with anything else. The fact is, the tour is a ridiculously tough nut to crack. Our tech, like axis, is different. It looks different it feels different, it performs different. These guys have accomplished incredible things with the gear they ahve and making a switch this different at their level is risky and takes comittment. Consider that metal drivers heads had been on the scene in a refined and obviously advantageous way for about 7 years before there were no more Wooden heads out on tour. Davis Love won in 1996 with a wooden head I believe. It takes time but the no torque revolution has started!

So you get an increase in distance on your driver and maybe hit a 6i vs 5i in if you hit the fairway, we know most average guys have a pretty low FIR stat. And you do that what maybe 12 times a round depending where you play?

But you putt on every hole. The average player say has 2.2 putts per hole for argument sake. Get a Axis1 or L.A.B or whatever and drop that down to 2 putts per hole by eliminating 3 putts, have a good chipping day say 1.8 putts per hole. That's 6-8 strokes shaved off. Show me a driver that can shave off even half that.

I get that a lot of those putters are hard to get your hands on, I randomly came across both and Axis1 and L.A.B putter at random chances, putted with them opposite hand, saw what they could do, now have them on my buy list. Well Axis1 will wait cause no leftys now.

C'mon B ! Guys here spend thousands on Camerons just because they have a circle T. I like the idea behind the Axis but they are tough to look at.

C'mon b! They are not that tough to look at. On a scale between a Scotty Newport 2 or 009 and a L.A.B DF 2.1, the Axis falls somewhere in the middle along side most other mallet putters. I'd take the Axis over the Toulon Vegas or any other #7.

There are a good portion of players here who will spend that on a driver and then double that on "real deal" shafts with hopes that it works out. Extravagance is just part of the hustle.
