Usps delays?

I just bought some balls online, last week. The guy printed the shipping label that night. Three days pass, and the tracking still says awaiting package. I message him, he replies with "post office delays." I'm like, tracking says you didn't even drop it off. He stopped responding so I filed a claim to get my money back. So...

You also have to realize the USPS tracking system is a joke. Ive dropped things off, watched them scan it, I always get a receipt to show they received it. I then check the tracking when I get home and it shows that USPS still hasn't received it. Ive had packages with a tracking status of "USPS awaiting acceptance" for days, the tracking never updates until it is delivered.

I really dont bother with USPS anymore since they have increased their pricing to match everyone else. They were once the go to for shipping clubs because they were substantially cheaper, not so anymore. Have never had any kind of delays with UPS, everything was delivered on time as promised with tracking that actually updates in real time every step along the way. Probably shipped out 20+ packages since the pandemic began, not a single issue.

And you can get a discount with UPS if you set up an account online and create shipping labels that way. Promo code “EASY” Usually around 10% but sometimes more.

Wednesday will be 2 weeks for a shaft from Minnesota to Michigan.

If you see “In Transit to Next Facility” that seems to mean wait awhile.

As of today, May 4, no change in Tracking as the last update was April 28 when it seemed to go off the USPS grid.

Have some Callaway ferrules and a weight for my Mavrik SZ coming from Florida that we’re supposed to arrive today and just switched to “In Transit to Next Facility.

Other stuff has not been an issue so it is very hit or miss on which packages are impacted/delayed.

Just circling back as my shaft did finally arrive on May 11. It was shipped on April 22 (from Iowa to Michigan). I did file a Missing Mail Search on May 7th and on May 10th tracking updated to show that the package had arrived at the Detroit Regional Center. You can file a missing mail search after 7 days for Priority.

I don't know if it was the missing mail search that got it going or just dumb luck.

I did get a call from my local post master the night I filed the search and then a return call the day the item was delivered, so there is a higher level of interest in the package when the search is filed.

Good luck to all as I have another shaft on the way that was on time and was supposed to be delivered today but now shows arriving late and In Transit to Next Destination.

For what it's worth when I track a package now it gives a warning header that wasn't there before. I know it's hard to accept, but I think there's nothing to worry about, just too many items for their system right now. Additionally, I've noticed at work and at home that I'm getting a different carrier quite often, usually 2-3 per week instead of my normal carrier. Their whole system is out of whack for the time being.

I bought a couple of shafts from a seller here and the tracking shows it as "Pre-shipment" since May 12, when the shipping label was created. I reached out to the seller and the seller indicated that they did indeed drop off the package. I'm going to give it another week and if I don't have anything I'll file a claim.

Hey I will take delays over USPS just straight up stealing items from my package. I sent a 6x6x48 golf box to Florida a couple weeks ago with with an assembled wedge, a fairway shaft, tour issue fairway head, 8 heads (MP-18 irons & Nike/TM wedges), and a bunch of grips. They show up in Florida, and the only thing in the package is the assembled Nike wedge, the fairway shaft, and the grips (and my spec sheet I sent with the package). Those heads were wrapped in bubble wrap then stuffed in bubble wrap pouches then stuffed in the box. There is no way they were falling out unless you wanted them out. Now I get to go through the USPS claims process and figure out what to do about the new set I was putting together that I don't have anymore.

Had a strange USPS delivery/package tracking this past week. Bought an item on Ebay from a seller in Ohio that was around 75 miles west of me. I'm a little south of Pittsburgh. Was accepted by post office in Minerva, Ohio on 5/20 with an estimated delivery of 5/23. On 5/23 the tracking showed the item arrived at a USPS location in Omaha, NE. Package went over 850 miles west instead of 75 miles east! The item did arrive on Tuesday 5/26. Crazy times for all of the shipping firms. Shipping logistics are all over the place these days.

For Michigan, one month is becoming the norm. I'm curious how USPS is going to address the fact all of us paid for Priority delivery only to find USPS making decisions about which packages to delay. Which is exactly what is happening. If they have capacity issues, the proper thing they should do is route these to UPS and Fedex.

As I stated before, I dont know why anyone is bothering with the Post office for shipping at this point. Im in PA and sold a putter to a guy in NJ. I ship UPS ground which would have been there the next day. Buyer requested I ship USPS to his PO BOX, said he had trouble with packages going missing on his porch. I was fine with that, shipped it out USPS Priority, it took a week and a half till it was delivered to his post office! And it was actually more expensive USPS "Priority" than it would have been UPS Ground that would have been delivered the next day.

Another thing to keep in mind, alot of these delays are being blamed on COVID, however most forget that USPS is on the verge of closing down and is looking for almost 90 billion in bailouts from the government. Their financial issues began long before any of the current craziness started, its just a convenient excuse.

And forget about trying to get a refund for shipping charges because things arent being delivered in "2-3 days guaranteed" as they advertise. They will simply state its an act of god and out of their hands.

A lot of it is because eBay defaults to it. Also, UPS wont deliver to a PO box. At least when I shipped to one they said it has to be USPS. I for one am done with them.

Like to update this thread. I shipped an item out Monday which member bought on Sunday so shipped next buisness day. Now we all know how usps has been I sent priority but we know that means nothing And estimate delivery was think Wednesday. So every day since I’ve had the member sending messages wanting to known the whereabouts. Now tracking still shows in transit was updated today in transit and says will be longer then normal. I have had this happen several times first item may not have been scanned in a location then all sudden next day it arrives at destination. Point is guys we know with these times how shipping has been especially with post office but I think just after few days cause item hasn’t arrived yet you are wanting your money back. Idk is that jumping the gun or is it me? Guys I’m sorry I’m just little more patient then some.

I'm in the exact situation with one of my items. I've been keeping the buyer posted and so far they have been more understanding than yours. Right now, you did as promised (shipped off) and now it's up to USPS to deliver (pun intended). Hopefully this isn't an excuse for buyer's remorse.

I have done hundreds of deals over the years and even with problems in the shipping both sides have been understanding. I have been in constant contact with the buyer responding to every single pm the past couple days just kinda find it hard how you think you want to start a Pp claim when item is in transit. I am hoping it’s not buyers remorse as I worked and worked with the buyer to get what and where he wanted to be at.

I’d like to jump in..I’m icecat’s buyer..he has been great.

i feel like I need to defend myself a little bit...I didn’t say I was doing a claim(refund)today..I was reaching out to him just to give him a heads up I think there is a red flag with this shipment as the last real update was it leaving his local PO on Monday..since then it has simply said in transit in network..with zero real tracking updates..didn’t even get to an origin regional center.

this has happened to me 3 times during COVID and all 3 times the package never arrived.

so my reaching out was just a heads up that I am worried.

seller told me that you can’t do customer service claims until 10 days after shipping..all I said was that i am not waiting 10 business days..without a real tracking update.

maybe a misunderstanding and I think he was an excellent seller but that is my side of it.

Thank you I’ve tried explaining this till blue in the face but is convinced it’s lost. Last package I received was shipped from Michigan to Ohio and took 7 days, shipped one from Ohio to Arizona took 2 days go figure. Just saying members got to be patient, just cause sumthing is shipped priority the 1,,2,3 day deliver don’t expect it in that especially now and usps tracking updates are horrible

I was the OP, I started this thread back when I shipped a set of irons 2 days priority USPS and got worried when irons were not delivered as it should, luckily my buyer was awesome, patience and understanding. Since then I’ve bought items and all were delivered on time and also recieved items faster than usual.
