To clarify, this is his driver shaft. Looks like he had been playing a Ventus Black previously.

Interested to see what profile it is. They have a profile Dufner uses, a profile Bryson uses And a 3rd prototype I’ve seen. They may have built him his own shaft that has a similar bend profile to his Ventus Black but with the stability and higher ball speeds LAGP is quickly becoming known for.

I played la ozik black tie in driver, 3w, and 2i all last year and loved them. Still have all 3 shafts...... really looking forward to trying the new lineup

I hope he goes graphite in the irons like Bryson, too. We need "popular" players to start using new equipment so things pick up steam in the market place. Right now shafts like MMT are still $75 per shaft... Would love to see that price down to be competitive with steel. Once it gets into the $50-$60 range, I think fitters will start putting it in better player's hands and within 10 years, I think almost every golf shaft (including putters) will be graphite or have graphite in it.

The LA Golf website is shockingly poor right now. No specs on any shafts, many 404 errors, difficult to navigate. And the online "fitting" tool suggested that regular flex Red, White and Black Ties would all be good driver shaft choices for me, with no additional input. For shafts at their price point I think they should be marketing to gear heads and highly technical fitters, and their current website does not cut the mustard for that crowd.

yea its crazy... its been that way since it originally launched a year or so ago. The website is terrible and im sure its why not many people play them unfortunately

Not sure when the switch happened, but both he and Dufner are rocking the F9, while Bryson is in the SZ.

Rickie must be doing some serious soul searching. Only three PGA staffers at Cobra and he is second. I still enjoy the Ventus Black and F9 combo.....

In all fairness, Bryson is one of the top 10, maybe top 5 best players on the planet right now, so being number 2 isn’t exactly a bad thing.

quick update, FWIW, this lasted for 1 round. Ventus went back in play Fri - Sunday.

There has to be a programming error in that tool. I just entered the below inputs and got the same regular flex recommendations.

Club: Driver

Height: Too High

Spin: Just Right - Low

Carry: 290+

Put those in just to test it and it still came out with regular, which I don't think any sane person would recommend with the speed needed for a 290+ carry.

LAGolf is going through some serious internal changes. The shafts on their site are really not even available.. Ever since Oly bounced to Ping I think they are in a bit of a scramble mode.

For what it is worth, I think you will absolutely see Rickie in a LAGolf driver shaft at some point soon. Iron shafts is not out of the realm of possibility. He was testing iron shaft this past week right? Their company model is to make endorsed athletes part owners. As owners don't you think they are going to want to rep the product as much as possible?? As all potential sales benefits them.
